I’m glad I read this thread. Title is misleading and I had wrongly assumed there was a quality issue with sofirn.

Yeah and unfortunately the OP hasn’t been seen here for 3 weeks plus…I doubt that he’s coming back to change the title.

I have sent a PM to the almighty SB so he can decide if the title should be amended.

I’m sure that title is generating a lot of views…currently over 1100

I can change the title if most of you want me to. I just generally avoid doing so, to avoid making it look like I’ve been bought off by a given vendor to create a favorable impression of them.

Well - to be honest, i keep reading this thread only because of the title - to check out what the fuss is about. then i find that Sofirn is actually impressive!

happened twice. today i forgot again that i had read this thread before.

I own one Sofirn light. It worked for less than 5 minutes. I bought it used so I have no recourse other than to never purchase another Sofirn product.

No recourse? Have you contacted Sofirn about it?

Plenty of expensive and well known brands have early failures too, even DOA’s, and sometimes it can be hard to get proper customer service. I’m pretty sure Sofirn would stand behind their product, I would contact them through the forum (PM) and at least give them a chance to resolve the issue. It may not matter that you were the second owner.

There have been times I was upset with a company because of product failure, only to end up loving the company after they quickly resolved the issue.

This shipping seems a LOT worse than usual yrs. With a high %age not ariving.

I’ve had 5 non arrivals since last Oct so far. Over around 22 items.
and ALL from China. Even one when I paid the extra $4.50 for registered. (Refunded) with 6 to 8 weeks being the norm since around that time.
I’ve given away ordering from China for a while. US only.

YEP Must be us in Queensland. So laid back in our climate even the post is lazy hey. (Our winter is your summer).
We only get 2 seasons pr yr. Wet\Dry. And BOTH warm.
Even the rain.

Agree that it’s safest to not interfere too much when a specific company is called out. But to accurately represent the contents of the initial post, perhaps changing it to “Sofirn [shipping] currently not impressive” would be fair? That seems to capture what the OP was disappointed with.

I’ll soon be buying a Sofirn from their Aliexpess store, it shows: ” Free Shipping to United States via ePacket Estimated Delivery Time:12-20days”

After I receive it I’ll post in this thread how long it actually took

One reason for slow shipping can be multiple items in the order. One of them may be ‘restocking’ (Fasttech lingo) and keeping the order on hold or something. I usually avoid ordering too many things at a time.

I usually message fasttech to hold the shipment until all the items are in stock so that they ship it in one package, I don’t like to tire the postman with my packages especially in the winter.

I’ve been incredibly impressed with Sofirn in terms of their products themselves and the company shipping out my order almost immediately.

I have one sofirn product, a C8T and I am really impressed. I do have a friend who has an issue with his C8A. First it wouldn’t go to turbo then it now has only turbo. Probably just the luck of the draw.

Sounds like an issue with the driver. Message Sofirn and they’ll sort it out. Easy enough to solder in a new driver. Gotta be careful on the C8A as the step down timer on Turbo is too long and can damage the light

Sofirn are awesome. I’ve purchased 100+ products of theirs and only had one faulty driver and another with a few scratches. That’s pretty good odds.
