Copper Slide Lantern Flashlight

Another wee hand made prototype made from some copper tubes and other stuff I had in the spare parts box 8^)

kiriba-ru was kind enough to send me some copper tubes and optics last year to make something with of my choosing so I made this dual purpose flashlight/ lantern

The front emitter is a Nichia 319A SM503 and the lantern part has two opposing XM-L2 emitters of unknown specification.

The pill is a filed down brass P60 base and the driver is from an ultrafire mini cob flashlight with cap pencil fix so always starts on high.

Modes are high, low, lantern then lantern beacon.

Nichia 319A SM503 Front emitter

20mm diffused spot TIR

2 x XM-L2 3C? Lantern emitters

18350 1100mAh protected cell

Reverse clicky tail switch

GITD behind optic & switch

Micro USB charging

Copper & Brass construction

Internal hanging loop

Length – 130 - 150 mm
Width – 21 mm

Weight - 155gm

Front – 364 lm / 106lm

Lantern - 300 lm

I have left most of the working marks and only lightly polished the light.

The mechanism is a friction slide.

The tail has a copper loop built in for hanging made from 2.5mm copper wire.

Built in micro USB charging with red & green indicators via a ME4056 tiny charge board, there is more info on these in vwpieces thread.

Some build pictures of the lantern section.

.

stunning! You must have a notebook with all kinds of designs and ideas. just amazing.

Oh wow…awesome mind-boggling build :+1:

Thanks mate. No notes, I just sit with the materials I have and think about it for a while then start building and see what happens

WOW, Very Nice.
That folding loop fits perfect in the tail, rechargeable is sweet  :+1:
Gonna wet sand/frost the lantern lense?
What did ya use for battery.
Curious if you did anything to the charge board to change current or anything else. Charge indicators?

Wow. All of your custom flashlights are amazing!

This light is a beauty!

Another piece of art from the master !
The combination of flashlight and lantern surely has already been made, but yours is of course way more stylish

Amazing amount of features

Just plain crazy.

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

:+1: CRX
And to imagine you basically made the host from plumbing pipe and a tubing cutter. Nice.

Beautiful workmanship.

That is beautiful… :+1:

Another awesome light CRX! I like looking at your pics to try to figure out how you did it.

Thanks for the comments guys

I might do later but like the way it looks just now.
Aspire 1100mAh cell with protection circuit.
I left the charger board at stock current and potted it with UV glue to carry the indicator lights to the external shell.

Bravo !

Really nice build, great work :+1:

Just awesome.

Did you take inspiration from other work or is this completely from the mind of the maker?

Andy.
