Haikelite MT09R Test/Review Beam video footage.

Thanks Jason for the very high quality video. The flashlight is beautiful but the light output is a bit underwhelming. However, since this is not using the improved production driver, we can’t really judge yet.

It will outclass that from ive been reading here by far so no worry brighter and more throw then mt07… remember the mt07 uses xhp70 emitter where the mt09 will use tripple xhp35 so it will be a more focused and better beam for throw compared to the mt07.

Not necessarily, the 09 has three smaller reflectors(made into one) whereas the 07 has one much larger reflector.

Haikelite said this before,

The specs for 09R is optimistic .

The throw of triple 35-Hi is over 300 000 cd, over 1000 meter distance, with 7500 lumens. (As we are not that experience with lux test, we compared it with MT07 SMO XHP70.2 , and did a rough caculate, absolutely 09R triple is much better in throw)

The XHP70.2 is over 15000 lumens , over 650 meter throw.

So according to them the 09r is better in throw…

My skills are not great, I just happen to have a decent camera  It’s Malaysia.

Not very optimistic about the throw though. I’m getting about 109K cd for my 4500ish lumen “bad sample”.
Waiting for official measurement from you guys.

Trust me you are no where near 4500 lumen with that driver... I have one here myself that the very best I got was 4000 lumen. 9 out of 10 times it came in closer to 3500 to 3600.

I did take a measurement and at around 3800 lumen... At 5 meters I got 5200 lux... Do the math and the results are 130000 candela with an estimated throw of 721 meters and this is at a far lower output level than the light is designed.

Even if the full production model only hits 7000 lumen this will easily be a 1000 + meter thrower.

Okay just a heads up for U.S. customers. I do have 5 MT09R 70.2 here and ready to ship. I have 4 white in CW and 1 black in CW.

There are plenty more on the way. I just finished inspecting these and the are ready to ship you can find the at

He Said She Said Sales

Remember all light that you purchase from my store come with a full 2 year warranty. I will service and repair any problems here in the U.S. so no worrying about shipping to China for a repair. If you have an issue I will do the repairs myself. Even to the point that even if a light for some reason needs to be replaced.

Also please remember that any modifications at all (even though we all love to modify our lights) Voids the warranty in full.

Thanks everyone.

How do we know that our sample when we receive ,is not a defect driver ?
Most of us do not have lux/lumen meter device to measure it.

only like 4 or 5 were underperforming and those were samples meant for suppliers only, not meant to be sold to customers, so we will NOT get them so no worry. Quality is nr1 to Haikelite and happy customers.

He is exactly right..

I also need to point out that these were not bad drivers, the drivers are perfectly fine and work exactly as they are designed to. When the driver was ordered originally it was just a miscalculation and the driver was designed to push out a couple of amps less that what we really need for 7k lumen...

I will just park this right here... Watch this and then imagine how cool 7k lumen will be...

I want to correct a couple of thing really quick then I gotta get some sleep lol....

The driver in those few lights is not bad... It was a miscalculation when the driver was being set up. That was quickly corrected and any light shipped in the group buy will have the driver that is set up from the corrected calculations.

The next thing is that it is no where near 5k lumen, I have one of those samples with that exact driver here right now and I have been testing it most of the day...

Light output is 3910 lumen... Now even at that output level at 5 meters it comes to 130000 Candela which comes to est. throw of 721 meters.

So needless to say with a corrected driver pushing out even just 7000 lumen it will make 1000 meters throw... It would hit 1k meters throw at 6000 lumen..

So for anyone wondering if it can or will make 1000 meters throw... Yes it should easily do that...

Get these while the price is this low... I am hoping that Dale included the prototype in a shipment that he sent out yesterday but, he is traveling right now and very hard to get on the mobile phone.

There was some asking about shipping to Hawaii... I have that taken care of so anyone that lived in Hawaii please feel free to order as I now know shaping will not be very much more that here in the Continental U.S..

Also I got an email while I was sleeping last night and only got to it just a few minutes ago.

Here are some of the models that are in the shipment on the way by DHL to me now.

SC02

MT03 latest version.

MTO7S 70.2 version it will be after the Holiday before I can get the 35 High model

Also my MTO9R 35 high version should be in this shipment as well.

I will get them all added to the stores inventory as soon as they arrive and you can of course find them here He said She Said Sales

Hey Terry, have you tried to do any amp draw measurements on the 70.2 light? It might be tricky to measure with that tail cap design.

Would you estimate it pulls about 20 to 22 amps on turbo? (assuming you measure 15k output and compensate for driver efficiencies)

I think it should be a whole lot more than 20 to 22 amps. Where did you get this value? Do you have a calculation? Thanks.

Edit: I think doubling the value from 40 to 44 amps will get you closer to actual value.

At 15k lumen, each emitter puts out about 5k lumen. The 70.2 emitter needs about 6A to do 5k lumen. So that’s 18A. Then you have to compensate for driver efficiency and reflector/lens losses, etc… You end up with about 20 to 22 Amps. Roughly speaking.

Sorry you’re right, my bad. :person_facepalming:

I may check the current on my sample once my shipment of parts arrive. Checking the current on these is a little tricky and even a small mistake can damage not only the light but the cells as well.

Let me get everything situated and I still may give it a try.

Hi everyone,

This post is for my Canadian neighbors.

May of you have been asking me about being about to order from my U.S online store.

I spoke to Dale the same day that many of you asked me about it and her told me that I was welcome to take on the sales for Haikelite in Canada.

The problem I was having was and still is the shipping costs.

Well I am happy to tell you now that I have been on the phone (Yes on Saturday) for the last 2 hours with USPS customer service.

They are going to have a sales team member contact me next week and we will set up a more permanent and simple shipping console for me shipping to Canada.

For now, I can ship to Canada but, I must tell you ahead of time that there will be a shipping charge.

For the customers here is the U.S. is costs me about $10.80 to ship out a light such as the MTO9R and I ship that free, I just loose that shipping charge from my own profit.

What I am going to do is that I will still cover that first $10.80 shipping that I allow the U.S. customers and you will have to pay the remainder of the shipping charge.

As my sales increase and I ship more and more my shipping charges will get lower and lower and I will of course adjust the shipping charges you have to pay as they get lower.

Shipping prices to Canada vary depending on what type of shipping method I use. So far without meeting with the sales team and only going by what I was told by the customer service people I can ship an MT09R to Canada for $16.80.

I am sorry that I have to charge shipping at all, but it was just high enough that I had to charge, or I would have lost a very large part of profit.

The shipping method for now will be 1st Class Package International Service. And I will be totally honest, I am told it should only take 3 to 7 days but there are cases it takes up to 21 days.

I just finished setting up the POS system on my website for shipping to Canada for the MT09R 70.2.

I will also set up the other products up with the same shipping option as soon as they arrive and have been tested and placed into inventory.

So, if this is something you are interested in please visit And you may order whenever you are ready.

PS give me a couple of hours to complete the shipping option for the SC26 “Little Fatty” I must calculate the weight and measurements before adding it.

Now I can officially Haikelite USA and Canada Official as I will be selling and taking care of service for both countries. Thank you so much for allowing me time to get it all worked out.

Okay my Canadian friends I now have the SC26 "little Fatty" added so that you guys can pre-order it just lie anyone else.

Again I am sorry but it is going to be $10.00 shipping.

Later on when hopefully I am shipping 200 or 300 units a month I can cut that shipping in half because USPS gives a very large discount once you are shipping over 200 units in a single month.

USPS will also be emailing me over the next couple of weeks to let me know anytime that I have qualified for discounted shipping.

Anytime they email me and discount my shipping charges I will update the shipping charges on my website and even refund any money for an item that may not have yet shipped like the SC26. By the time I start shipping all of those orders out I may have qualified for a better shipping rate and if that is the case I will refund the difference.

Thanks for wanting to shop with us...
