You wrote you want to try it on the Q8. Can you make wall shoots before and after?

Does this DC fix film do some magic on XHP70.2 / XHP35 and soften the yellow corona?

Absolutely … it blends and smooth out anything in the beam … I have a 4xAA Aldis light with the nastiest tri-colored hot spot ever . it has a solid round yellow ring around a pretty tight white hot spot and then a crazy yellow dot in the center of that . for 8$ it has a lot of throw… but at the cost of one serious amount of ugly YELLOW in and around the hot spot … one sheet of the new harder diffuser film material that I’m selling makes the beam 100% color blended and smooth like butter .

There are a few members on BLF doing testing and we’ll post some beamshots soon .

I have yet to see a beam that can’t be tamed …bring on the BLF GT

Holy not like chinese shipping Batman. I send $’s and he messages 15 min later that goodies are in the mailbox.

Boaz for president in 2020??

If you vote for me …I promise a chicken in every pot … 20 acres and a mule …. free 18650’s and a BLF Q8

Make it fried chicken in a box, 25 acres, no mule, 4x 30Q’s, and the BLF Q8, and I’ll vote fer ya RIGHT NOW!

Sorry for being a noob, but do these adhere to the inside or outside of the lens? If inside, how do you remove the lens? If outside, how do you measure the size and how do you accurately cut out a perfect circle to cover the lens?

Dc fix has adhesive so you can stick it on either side of the lens …inside or outside .
-How do you get a light apart ?? Depends on the light .
-How to cut a circle the size of the lens ??
You can use a battery,a coin or a socket the size of the lens trace it and cut it out carefully …Then peel and stick .

How does the adhesive hold up over the long term, to repeated operation in high/turbo modes?

I would like to try some but have some questions:
What colors do the DC-Fix come in? Does it make CW more neutral/warm?
Does it have any affect on CRI?

That's a good question

-What colors do the DC-Fix come in? >>There is no color to it .

-Does it make CW more neutral/warm? >> It might seem that way since it blends all the colors you're seeing in the beam . I just received a 7$ Convoy S2+ with a 1A tint.just a normal CW tint but when I started looking at the beam on a white wall hunt i realized the center was fairly yellow and the spill had a bunch of purple to it ...No matter how much you think maybe it doesn't matter to you ,i still think it distracts you and can be somewhat irritating .With just a bit of diffuser film the beam becomes much nicer .

Does it have any affect on CRI? >> NO It simply scatters the light that is there .same as a orange peel reflector doesn't change the cri . it just smooths out the beam and does a better job blending the colors into a uniform hue .

I received the DC-Fix from Boaz. He ships quickly!

I tested it on about a dozen flashlights already and it works amazingly. I am a big fan of flood lights and don’t like discernable hotspots so DC-Fix does the trick here. The results were very satisfying.

I did numerous ceiling bounce and wall bounce comparisons before and after and the lumen lost ranges anywhere from 18% to 2%. The inconsistency really depends on how wide it increases the spill because the larger the spill, the less of the light bounces back to the camera. I think the only way accurately test lumen lost is to use an integrating sphere.

Now my question is how do I remove it if I ever wanted to?

I think you could win on just promising to getting rid of all the bans and red tape associated with shipping li-ions. :crown:
