12,000 lumen MiniMax 18III. Dual XHP35 HIs, and Dual XHP70s

Hi,

The dual Cree XHP 35 HI, and XHP70s in this light coupled with individually addressable switches create a unique experience.

Please let us hear your thoughts……

???
I thought you can’t charge multiple cells in series without balance charging circuitry. That cell carrier does not look like its capable of individually monitoring voltage levels of each cell individually.

If it were me, I would not want to charge unprotected cells in that light. Other than that, looks like a winner.

Looks… kinda… weird with two different size emitters, and the smaller one has the larger diameter reflector! Yeah, the reason for the different reflector sizes is obvious, but still weird looking! :stuck_out_tongue:

…but how does it perform?

Great vid as always VOB. The strobe on that thing looks fun. Looking forward to getting my hands on one.

Can you open that battery carrier? Maybe there is balance charging circuit underneath that thick aluminium bottom.
It would be very unserious for well known manufacturer to build a light with 4S lithium configuration without a balancing circuit…

Otherwise light looks really useful with flood plus throw combination. I like it :+1:

Like the Ninja moves in the vs section

It seems like a design that is looking for a purpose rather than providing a solution to a purpose, if that makes sense.
Build quality looks nice.
Thanks so much for calling it as it is with the scary internal battery charging.
Your reviews are Top Notch as always.

Will wait for version 2 of this light and then maybe consider it as a novelty.
Later,
Keith

And about runtimes and step down? The light heats quickly?

I was wondering the same so I took it apart. There is nothing else I can see in there. Those thick ends are solid aluminum and the black color is anodizing. I could find nothing but traces on the pcbs.

On Turbo with both sets on I think the timer is triggered about 1-2 minute mark. I don’t have exact outputs and time tests because my light meter was damaged.
