DC-Fix Diffusion Film Sale

How does the adhesive hold up over the long term, to repeated operation in high/turbo modes?

I would like to try some but have some questions:
What colors do the DC-Fix come in? Does it make CW more neutral/warm?
Does it have any affect on CRI?

That's a good question

-What colors do the DC-Fix come in? >>There is no color to it .

-Does it make CW more neutral/warm? >> It might seem that way since it blends all the colors you're seeing in the beam . I just received a 7$ Convoy S2+ with a 1A tint.just a normal CW tint but when I started looking at the beam on a white wall hunt i realized the center was fairly yellow and the spill had a bunch of purple to it ...No matter how much you think maybe it doesn't matter to you ,i still think it distracts you and can be somewhat irritating .With just a bit of diffuser film the beam becomes much nicer .

Does it have any affect on CRI? >> NO It simply scatters the light that is there .same as a orange peel reflector doesn't change the cri . it just smooths out the beam and does a better job blending the colors into a uniform hue .

I received the DC-Fix from Boaz. He ships quickly!

I tested it on about a dozen flashlights already and it works amazingly. I am a big fan of flood lights and don’t like discernable hotspots so DC-Fix does the trick here. The results were very satisfying.

I did numerous ceiling bounce and wall bounce comparisons before and after and the lumen lost ranges anywhere from 18% to 2%. The inconsistency really depends on how wide it increases the spill because the larger the spill, the less of the light bounces back to the camera. I think the only way accurately test lumen lost is to use an integrating sphere.

Now my question is how do I remove it if I ever wanted to?

I think you could win on just promising to getting rid of all the bans and red tape associated with shipping li-ions. :crown:

Sorry Boaz for this mess!! :person_facepalming:

Nicely done informative post MascaratumB :+1:

I just ordered some to try out on a few lights that could use a bit of something.
I’m optimistic that it may help me to get more use out of them.

MascaratumB, very nicely done. Thanks for your effort putting this together! From my own experiements, I like DC-Fix the most. I just don’t know of a good way to remove it after I apply it to the outside of the lens because most flashlight bezels cannot be removed.

You should add this post to your sig!

Sorry Boaz for this mess!! :person_facepalming:

MascaratumB I really appreciate all your efforts here .

I have no idea why your camera was overcompensating ? or why your beamshots weren't showing what visually you were seeing . l picked the Thorfire TK4Aone of my uglier green tinted XPL-2 with a smooth reflector with a bunch of throw to show on a white wall how dramatic the change is from before and after adding a single sheet of diffuser film

Hey, sorry Boaz! I really had a big trouble with the cellphone as I mentioned so that’s the thing, my photos were not showing what the diffusers really make in “naked eye” perception!

I wanna say sorry to all the members that saw it and thought that it was a “nice” thing, but it was not! After Boaz pictures I realized that, we’ve been talking through PM and then came my decision to delete the threads!

I hope I can to better beamshots to really show what these diffusers can make

Again, sorry for this situation and I hope you (all) understand! I wouldn’t fail if I wasn’t human
Best regards :+1:

Received DC-Fix from Boaz today. It was applied to two Maglites; ML300LX and ML50LX. Fortunately, it's easy to unscrew the top of Maglites, so the DC-Fix was applied to the inside of the lens.

Beamshots are from the ML300LX:

As you can see, this vastly softens the Maglite beam. Note that I turned this photo into black & white, as it was almost impossible to get the color tint the same as it looked to the naked eye, and wasn't important anyway.

And the final product. Our recent snow here in Oregon was good for something.

Been a little busy, but my prize from the giveaway arrived a couple weeks ago. I am looking forward to trying it out.

Thanks Boaz!

I was pretty excited to see that this diffuser film KILLED the green on these thorfire lights. pretty impressive .

sadly when I tried it on some funky green NW ut01 lights it didn't work ..So on some tints it will knock out green ..In every light it will blend all color in the beam .

Pm sent for an order. Or is you paypal posted somewhere I am not looking?
