[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Your question is simple but your English is very bad :p

"Guys in EU received light with registered lately when it was sent to you? Mike"

Also, the last few pages are all from EU people who received there 'registered' lights, so why ask?

It should be totally clear for the reader that people in the EU are receiving there 'registered' lights bit by bit...

Mine just came in in a simple carton whet box

PS: If you just read a page back, you could see I'm from Belgium (EU)

You know difference between ‘sent’ and “received” do you?
So when it was sent?
Mike

Your English is even worst than I thought. For such a simple question, please be more clear in future messages...

Advice: read a page back and look at one of my last posts, there you can find some dates when the item was sent.

Now be good :p

@Samhaleke

Ouch! That’s an ugly way to receive your parcel(s)!

Do you know if it is caused by belgium post?

Just got an update from PostNL,My packages are planned to be delivered tomorrow!

Packing a rare and expensive flashlight just like that is totally not the fault of Belgium post. That it’s being whet perhaps but it isn’t even raining over here, so could be when picking of the plane…

Even if they opened the package (witch they didn't) it should not matter. You don't ship expensive goods unprotected in just a cheap carton box, period. That’s not only crazy but very respectful to the buyer!

Those first boxes (with the drop test video) looked very good, this however looks very bad :/

Is the flashlight in one piece? Are there any damaged edges?

Ok, i thought it was the impact of the wet box, but i understand that there is no padding at all (as the DHL parcels came fully padded)
I agree, that is not the way such a light should be sent.

Did your light get any damage? or was it only the boxes?
Hopefully it works well and didn’t suffer any damage.
I dont mind some damage on the box, ad long as the light is undamaged. Hopefully they both come clean, we’ll see i will keep you posted.

On the printed label -> Date and sender signature : 2018-02-08
Tracking starts with -> Asendia Hong Kong, Mailed : 2018-02-12
Received today in my mail box (didn’t have to pick it up at the post office) : 2018-02-20

Shipped to France with Swiss post ePacket.

That's also exactly the first that came up to my mind :D After immediate inspection of the ‘head’ (I could easily grab it true the whet carton), I only noticed it was a bit whet on the outside (anodizing) and very cold. But NO scratches, NO bumps or NO broken glass whatsoever! I (or should I say THEY) was very lucky it didn’t got damaged in any way. To know that the only protection was the thin plastic peel-off foil over the glass and just sitting freely in a cheap carton box (barely bigger than the head itself) is just BARE LUCK!

So no damage thus far, although I didn't test it yet as batteries are charging …

: knock on wood :

Oh my Goodness compared to the Q8 it’s REALLY BIG
Even Jokie looks surprised
:stuck_out_tongue:

This is due to the registered mail shipping. A lot of places have strict limits on size and weight for registered mail and this must have been what was needed in order to fall under those limits. It is not ideal but the only way they could ship registered mail. DHL would have been just like everyone else with the nice padded box.

Nothing that they could do about the wetness obviously.

I've got another one to compare for you ;)

Yes, the remaining orders are the first priority for sure. I am in no rush to send out the next round of PM’s, they will happen when they happen. They can save up some reflectors in the mean time.

Yep, the tint is really great, I love it personally. It is only when you try it side by side with a CW light (which most other throwers are) that it looks warm.

That doesn’t make the GT any warmer then it was before the comparison, only your perception of it.

I’m sorry TA, but I don't take that. I can understand the small box for weight purposes but NO PROTECTION at all??!! Protective foam does not weight anything...

It is not only crazy to do so (ship the head totally unprotected in just a carton box) but also unrespectful to the buyer. Am I so wrong here??

EDIT: to me it doesn't matter anymore as there is not one scratch to find (luckily) but for other people in feature package sending you should tell them, period.

The size of the box can be a larger factor then weight in many cases, I know in the US first class mail (which is basically the same as registered mail elsewhere) is graded into tiers by size and if it is over a certain size, it can not ship via that method and you have to use another method that generally costs 2x the price.

Not saying it is ideal or that the packaging was good, just saying they must have had a reason for doing it that way. They have proven they are more then willing to overpack the heck out of these lights so I don’t see them skimping on it without a reason.

Could also be partly for customs, customs will generally pay much closer attention to a big well packed box vs a plain smaller one.

Is your light damaged?

I haven’t received my light yet, but if it’s damaged due to inferior packaging will Lumintop take responsibility?

So that's it then, It's an isolated case, case closed??

They must have a reason for it NOT to use the same plastic protection as for the tube because of customs??!!(yes the tube had the minumum plastic protection)

Nope, that's crap, they where in a hurry and just put it loose in a box, they forgot the thin plastic foam. But that doesn't matter anymore as for me the light came in totally undamaged (luckily)! It’s just for future buyers and for LuminTop to take a bit more care please! You could pass this on to them...
