[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

luckily the GT seems to proof it’s toughness

I can confirm this very much, the GT's head is truly a BEAST! :D

It looks like the Lumintop box drop tester did some overtime just before CNY. Great company, how they take their job seriously :)

Afterwards I am happy I chose the €50 DHL box, it’s so nice and protective, worth every penny.

Looks like my GT is in the Netherlands. Called with PostNL and they gave me two trackingnumbers. I got a mail(after i filled in the form) that my light was not shipped.
Seems like the list got some flaws. Lumintop sure want to keep you on the edge of your chair, while on a cliff.

WTF!? Why it’s unbroken?

What is with the droptests, we wanted to get? I only saw a video of droptest with the DHL-Package.

I am lucky because I got my gt in germany with registered shipping in the big “DHL-Package” and not with two packages.

I guess it was rush hours at Lumintop just before CNY holidays. Texas Ace told them there is no holiday if the GT’s are not shipped. So they threw them into the boxes, put some tracking info on a list and jumped into the main holidays of the Chinese continent. I must say, TA pulled the right strings at Lumintop. Now let’s hope all GT’s arrive in good order. I see no problems there, the GT is build like it has to survive a nuclear strike.

I am a European citizen and in these shameful "parcels" I see a profound lack of respect for the UE members of the BLF. Why treat us like this? Maybe our money is not as good as US dollars? Who made that hell of packages? How can you close the head of a torch like the GT in a box without any protection around it that prevents the head from dancing in the box for the whole trip? It is an indifference that surpasses every imagination and that blatantly offends UE recipients. If they do this they know they can do it. Probably they do not perceive the presence of an authoritative representation of the BLF in defense of the European members. I can not find other explanations.

Its the registered shipping, not the destination.

I don’t think there is any political or otherwise intention here. If you have followed recent developments regarding shipping, registered parcels did happen to be a problem that stalled things a couple weeks at least - reflector issues are at play too. In the end, Lumintop accepted to swallow the pill and ship the registered orders whatever it costs… Now, it appears some corners have been cuts…but no damage so far.

This is a BLF project where we get some sort of alien technology for the price of a couple meals at the restaurant… It is not just a group buy, but a totally original design produced and delivered for the first time by a willing Chinese manufacturer. When taking part into such a venture, you must be prepared for some bumps. So far the GT is being delivered with no notable issues. And whatever happens, Lumintop, Neal and the GT team have shown their commitment to get this project right for everybody.

it was done in an incredible hurry. Everything points at that. They really wanted to get the lights out before a month close down of the business. If you look at all the different types of shipments. It’s an incredible challenge to sell a GT with shipping for $111 and also make some profit. This is China. Nevertheless it’s not good to send this massive piece of aluminum like they did. It’s nothing like the DHL package, I agree

Not sure if that’s true but even then it’s a real shame! :rage:

Mine arrived today. I wrote Neal a few weeks ago when I ordered the Lens Cap and Bag to switch shipping to DHL. Today both GT and the Bag arrived safely and in perfect condition. I’m absolutely impressed. The size, the overall quality.

It was worth the time waiting for it.

I want to thank you all in the GT Team for making this possible. It is great seeing Giggles sitting on my living room table knowing I’m one of only a good thousand people worldwide having this thing.

Great work!!!

Its a combination of registered and destination. Registered packages to germany arrived in the “DHL-Box”.

But I think it was possible to use the protective material of the DHL Boxes and cut them down to fit the Reflektor-Only-Box.

The Battery-Tube was protected enough I think.

I would appreciate if there's a list with the tracking numbers. I got the package with the reflector yesterday, so I suspect the 2nd parcel with body and the batteries might be held at the customs. Tracking would confirm this, and would enable me to speed the process.

edit: Nvm, disregard that. I found the link for the info request form in the first post. Here it is again if someone else also missed it:

I have only clarified one obvious thing: those who have made these “packages” are unrewarding people who do not care at all about the effort behind the design and construction of that torch. Above all, they do not fear any grievances of the BLF team, this is as clear as the sun.

I dont know why but i thought this was an awesome story! Very neat!

A reflector shot from the GT received today via registered mail:

On closeup it does show machining marks, but you really have to look for them in real life.
I love the complex reflections it produces. It feels like looking inside an old car headlight.
