[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Please stop posting pictured of your raggedy box. Do you think Lumintop wet and then crushed your box before sending it to you? Pretty sure the shipping company is to blame. You stated your light is in great shape so all is good and you have a great light at a great price. Your complaining is helping nothing.

So, to all fellow Europeans that also received their GT's recently.

Do you have any pictures, videos, comments or reports to share?

Please, keep them coming and post your findings!

Some small things I noticed are:

1. sometimes I hear the glass “click” or “pop”, almost like it’s cracking/bursting but then again it’s not. Very weird and not only when the light is on, but also when I do some soft “swinging” with it when off. Very scary!

2. the flat sides on the battery tube are completely off-line/off-center with the switch/button (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).

3. the black attachment-ring-hole on the head is also completely off-line/off-center with the switch/button (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).

4. the silver attachment-ring in the tripod-mount-hole is not horizontal in line with the head (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).

5. one of the small LED on the switch is shining brighter then the other (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).

Anybody else noticed one of these?

Every single one of those things has been thoroughly discussed.

All these alignment wishes are difficult to fulfill, it has to do with how threads work. Even if you design and manufacture and tighten it so precisely with the exact amount of force that all alignments are there, over time everything will shift again by wear of the threads and then your OCD starts striking up again. It is not a manufacturing fault, getting these alignments right requires a complete different way of joining two pieces (like bolting them together). Note that many high end flashlights have this exact alignment stuff going on.

Ok "dude", that's great! It means I'm not the only one noticing those small things :D

Now I'm looking for the "glass issue" but can't find it ... can't read everything everyday ;)

Cheers

I'M in. put me down for 1 Giggles !!!

No politics in BLF, please read the rules.

This group buy is closed. Sorry.

You’ll need to wait until they go on sale to the public. There will probably be some coupon codes to lower the price.

Just got it and it is amazing!!!

Thank You TEAM GIGGLES!!!

Those cracking noises are related to thermal expansion/contraction in the same way you hear heaters or car engines ‘click’. I dont think there is anything to worry about.

I did not ask M4D M4X for my tracking number so I have not followed the whereabouts of my GT, but this sounds like it may just be near.

Probably Jos! Hopefully i can post some pictures later today!

are you at home?

The item has been delivered successfully

He’s obviously not at home  , But GT currently is there

Thanks for checking

No, I’m at work at school, superintending a couple of pupils doing a test atm who are trying to determine the iodine content of betadine (and I’m surfing BLF :innocent: :person_facepalming: ). It must be delivered to one of my neighbours (in the appartment complex where I live we all receive packages for each other, so that is perfectly fine).

Ha, this is the true BLF spirit over here, Martin checking the parcels of Jos
I love that spirit!

Biology teacher Djozz?

No, teaching assistent (TOA). But biologist by background.

Batteries and body arrived today. Packaging damaged here too, as You and one other posted stated before.
It is a good amount of moisture, probably dropped too.

This is a pic from the Carrier.
This end was on the “dropped” end of packet but I would not take a guess if its from manufacturing or if its from dropping.
Does not seem to be significant anyway…
Damn can´t open manual, it´s sludge….Lol.

“The END”. Anodizing has taken some hit. Again impossible to say if it´s from shipping or if it was there.
This was on the “intact” end of packaging.

BUT:

THERE WAS THAT ONE THIN layer of bubble wrap, so that the moisture DID NOT get to batteries.
(To be honest, if I was shipping these, I would probably use a lot more)
Batteries would have maybe survived some moisture but I don´t like the idea of getting them wet & rusty on the contacts.
Just to be clear: All Batteries were dry, unharmed and at decent storage voltage.
