Why/how did you choose your BLF Username?

No problem with a second thread!

Consider the word research. Usually research is thought of as quest to uncover new information, but the word re-search would suggest a second search for old information that has already been discovered before

I just did a re-search ;) and couldn't find that old thread.. raccoon city must have a good nose or a 6th sense...or something :p

I didn't search for the old thread, I bookmarked it!

I’ve probably been using skinny_tie as a username for 20 years.

Skinny Tie is a character from the song Skinny Tie Sensurround by the Scottish indie pop group Bis.

I certainly don’t want to be like the character, but I like the song and it popped into my head when I was trying to think of a username.

Nobody can blame you for NOT bookmarking the most important thread on BLF!! :p

Nice melody!

Back in school around 1997, i used to drink this yoghurt drink everyday during lunch.

So one time my classmate called me yokiamy, which comes from yoki combined with my (degenerated) family name.

I’ve been using this nickname ever since.
Don’t drink it anymore though :person_facepalming:

mine was came from french navy gunboat

I always wondered if you named yourself after the Honda!

My friend owned several CRXs. They were fun to drive and surprisingly excellent in the snow.

We welded the doors shut on one and chopped the roof off. That one turned a lot of heads.

Neat! I always thought your name might be D. Chomak.

My name is Jos and 6 years ago I thought that ‘djozz’ sounded kind of cool. In the meantime I think that ‘Jos’ would have been perfectly ok.

It’s complicated… :person_facepalming:

But my name’s in there somewhere

No not really, djozz is way cooler IMHO!

Upon the remarks that I do not sign off my PM’s as Henk, I have explained quite often that:

One fine morning a very dear (ex) colleague called me absent minded “Henk” two times in a row.
So I told her that I did not have any objections to be “Henk for you too” = Henk4U2.

I live in Stittville and my name is Ed

I also use Kart17DD which was the number of my Son’s Kart when he raced and I was Direct Drive some of the time.

Not to be confused with D. Kolchak

Back in 1994 I replaced the crappy suspension fork that came with my Giant Cadex CFM-3 with a Manitou 3 from Answer products. I always thought the Manitou 2 was funny (especially since it was a pink tou-2).

Since manithree is a made-up word, it’s almost always available and I use it everywhere.

When I was a kid I liked the little puzzle game called Klotski where you move the pieces around to get one specific pieces out. When I started working I would get calls from company’s wanting to sell me something I didn’t need (shop air hose, light bulbs, cleaning solutions) I would politely tell them that I didn’t need it but if they were persistent and wouldn’t quit I would simply say they need to speak with Klotski. Now when I page Klotski over the intercom everyone just laughs, I actually have a friend that sells this way and a good product but some of these people just wont quit.
Paul

Always wondered if it would be d’jozz or DJ ozz

Mine is my last name btw, everyone calls me by it
