Tonight I went out with Nico to check our GT’s. It was minus 6 degC and quite windy so after 5 minutes out there we called it a day because our hands were too cold to even push a button. But I managed to take this beamshot on one of the huge pilons that carry the powerlines over the IJ, left is Nico’s GT, right is mine. The lighted part is at about 130 meters high up, but because of our distance to the pilon, I estimate the distance at 180 meter. The big hotspot in the sky is the moon.
We could by just visibly hit the other pilon at 700 meter with our GT’s, but they are pretty dark grey so they are not easy targets.
I only got a tube today. Box was crashed a little but it was dry and the tube and carriers are in perfect condition. The head tracking doesn’t moved since a week.
Both parcels (registered) arrived at the same day, 2 days ago.
Shipping took only 15 days…
Both packages looked punched a little bit, but mainly undamaged and what’s even more important: the GT arrived in mint condition!
And yes!
This piece of art, makes you giggle.
It’s Unreal! And very heavy!
My amateur lumen measurements in the toilet using ceilingbounce on my S7 (calibrated with an Acebeam K60) shows 2.100lm.
This for sure isn’t right, because of the beam characteristics of the GT.
Unfortunately I didn’t have time to really test it in the wild.
Like a large dog, this thing needs run.
Congratulations to the team and everyone involved in helping to create this beauty!
This thing is worth waiting for it much, much longer!
I’m looking forward to getting the second pm for ordering a second one.
They are best held in pairs
I finally received my BLF-GT on Tuesday from the group buy… and OMG… this thing is as close to a 3-inch wide white laser beam i have ever handled. I agree it is BIG, very big, and built like a Abrams tank for weight in a single emitter light, but it is built with very high quality & precision. I can finally put my massive Cyclops HID 10-lb light to rest-in-peace, as this thing is the first LED flashlight i have to out-throw it, and its lighter & smaller than the Cyclops HID oddly to say. So i’m going to duct-tape five modified Imalent DX80 32000 lumen lights around it to add some flood to the GT, and use it for a new pocket EDC. (photos soon, but kidding about adding five DX80s, will take photos of the GT throwing in comparison to my modded 26650-DST super thrower, TK75vn, Olight M3XS-UT Javelot, Modded Thorfire C8, and the DX80 flood-blaster for fun.
It is already since 11/02/2018 that the pakkage with the body and batteries have not moved, Still got the message ’ Your registered letter is on the way to Belgium. Location: MYKCHA’
This is not good, I recieved the ‘head’ on 20/02/2018, both pakkages where sent the same day/time.
O yes, Thanks to Martin for giving me the trackingnumbers :+1:
After: “KUCHING, item dispatched out ….”, I only got the next status update, once the parcel was already handed over to the local Post (after Customs).
And all those later updates were only visible inside the tracking of the local Post company. No longer on the Malaysian Post website…
So check your local Post tracking!
If Customs needs a little bit longer, this may well be the reason for the delay. I have once waited for 1 full month, for customs to finish their job…
