is there a thread for assembly of the headband? feeling pretty stupid right about now and the manual is not helpful

Long piece goes around head, short goes from back to top of light mount.
You have to fold a portion of the band and squeeze it through the opening in the middle of the adjusters, from the underside.

Cool, think I got it now, for some reason I thought the darker color would be on exterior only, so was having trouble putting it together, but the pic helped, thanks again

I just received my H03, and directly placed a NRC18650B in it and tested it.
Directly I liked it. Nice even light to work with.
The headband I think is not super great, but works fine.
The magnatic tailcap is a heandy feature.

Oncoming weak I’l test the light during work (I work at dark places :stuck_out_tongue: ).

First impression: Great little light! (And yes, it is a small light!).

I assume that your head light has the Narsil ramping UI. Ramping would be amazing on this headlight.

Loving the H03 :heart_eyes: .

Now driving of to a problem with a heating boiler, glad I can use it again :).

I measured 1.5A max at tailcap with my H03, I assume that’s not enough to get 900/1000lumen?I’ve tried different high drain 18650 batteries, but all the same current

Edit: I got 2.2A with 2x cr123A @4V each… that’s 17W input vs 6W(4.1V*1.5A) with the 18650 batterie, or am I thinking wrong?

You should get about 3A with an 18650 for ~1000 lumens: XLamp® XM LEDs Archives - Cree LED
Are you using a clamp meter? A DMM will give you a lower reading, although I have no idea if it can reduce current down to 1.5A.

I measured exactly the same currents with a clamp meter.
I don’t understand the big difference between power input of a 18650 and a 16340 battery

CR123 calculation is wrong. First, voltage of CR123 is rated at 3V. But under load of approximately 2A you get a voltage of about 2.25V: Test/Review of Panasonic Lithium Power CR123
So 2 of those in series you get 4.5V, and P = 4.5V x 2.2A = 9.9W.
This is the correct value for something like an XM-L2 emitter producing about 1000 lumens. This can be seen again in Cree’s specs: XLamp® XM LEDs Archives - Cree LED
It says 10W @ 3A
Of course you still need to take into account driver efficiency, but I’ve excluded that for the time being.
So your light is working fine using 2xCR123 cells, but is doing something wrong using a single 18650 cell.

OK sorry for the potentially stupid question I’m going to ask. You know that by double clicking you can toggle between two outputs right? So in high/turbo you toggle between something like 1000 and 500 lumens.

The H03 is rated at 900lm with a single 18650. With rounding and marketing included!
(there is also 1200lm printed on the box)

I think Skilhunt tends to exaggerate stuff, so the low amp reading is OK.
With an added second magnet it is my favourite EDC.

My apologies if I didn’t post appropriately but I have this wierd problem thats starting to happen with my H03. It behaves like the batteries are almost dead (the red low voltage flash with a faint drop and rise in output). It worked fine on all of my various batteries up until march. It really starts flipping out on both high groups and the next lowest below each group too. I don’t think its the cells being Ive used like 5 different kinds, when I check their voltage they are consistent with the amount of time I run it on 2 different chargers. I usually run it 2 levels down from the highs for the range I require.
