[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Posting on the BLF is like swimming in mud lately. This why we have had so many duplicate and even triplicate posts.

For me, only this thread is slow. The rest of BLF seems fine.

From the one screenshot I saw it was not obvious whether Levi’s is targeting individual resellers including Neal Zhang or his source (and the manufacturer) of these bags. Without even typing out the link from the screenshot I will assume the company is not going to target individual resellers, for now.

As far as I know Paypal rules won’t allow taking payments for something that is even allegedly a counterfeit product, and Paypal will react aggressively.

Of course, I would not dare sell anymore in either case if I were him, even using other means of payment. Who knows what they come up with next. He’s worried for a reason.

Sounds like a case of “intellectual property” defined very broadly. Basically the larger a company the less someone else’s has to resemble theirs to trigger rent-seeking behavior in the form of somewhat random lawsuits.

Apparently the “GT bag” is almost the same size and form as some Levi’s bags as linked earlier in this thread. Very close to the same form, but very little resemblance otherwise IMO. A very generic and normal design, I would say even traditional and quite probably predating any Levi’s superficial fashion stuff . Almost analogous to pretending all typical modern slate phones are imitations of one brand. Absurd, but that didn’t stop Apple from suing.

This, except I don’t find any implication in TA’s post that these exceptions(shipping by mail in one box) were about customs protocols. This is regarding the postal service and how they sort their stuff. More precisely, mostly not what they allow but what they allow at a somewhat reasonable price. Most of the time a whole GT would likely be more expensive to mail than the two halves in separate boxes, it appears.

It seems the shipper was experimenting with the receiving countries’ customs several times, but this is unrelated.

I double your statement about the issue in general; this was discussed to exhaustion and it was made very clear that post shipping was to be in two boxes by default. Could not have been missed by anyone who went through ordering. Could very well be forgotten by now as a GB like this is a lengthy process. I would most likely have forgotten had I been in the lucky situation to live in an area with DHL service (yeah, they do business here too) and chosen DHL.

Huh? 1192 is after 1050

LOL I was thinking the same. Numbers must not be his thing.

Ranking in this gb does not mean anything at all.

I love my BLF GT.

Ano is perfect, reflector is top notch, threads are great, UI is great as well, output is good, throw are fantastic and the light colour om mine is a beatiful NW.
Also led is perfectly centered so great hotspot and nice corona.

Something Djozz and I noticed: his light has a somewhat cooler tint and the brightness of the hotspot seems (SEEMS, we have not measeured yet because indoor
not enough space and outdoor minus lots of degrees with freezing winds) to be a bit less then on my light.

It could be due to variations in leds, but perhaps different BINs have been used?

Anyway, providing agreable whether we will measure outside (approx 15 meters) and post the results, compared to TN42 NW (measured @ Djozz with 659Kcd)
and Nitecore TM36 lite modded with dedomed XP GD measeured at 849Kcd.

Cheers
Nico

WOOT! Congratulations. I think this is a higher honer (and certainly more rare) than being “first” on a big Youtubers channel post.

Se you in 8000 posts :student:

Who got posts #10440, 14500, 16340…?
Next will be 20700, 21700, 26650…

i am post 18650 with protected PCB

You’re not wrong about Paypal being aggressive about these things. He said that he’s contacted Paypal and it’s genuine, they’ve blocked all payments, transfers and withdrawals on his account.
What Paypal have to do with a legal trademark infringement though, I’ve no idea! It could be that Levis are just pressuring Paypal to stop Neal, not that they will actually pursue it internationally themselves.

What this means for round 3 of the GT sales though… Am I right in thinking all GT payments go directly to Neal’s Paypal? If so, that could be a problem…

That makes sense , I wondered why I couldn’t buy 8 x35E’s from his site.

Few days ago i had chance to see one of the two GT’s that are coming in my country. Sadly mine is still not sent but at least i had chance to play a bit with the other one.

Aaaaand WOW, this thing is actually huge, it looks big on pictures but once you have it in your hands it is a different story lol. I like how ridiculous this light is. Cant fu*king wait for mine

Once i get it ill forget anything that happened, at least now i know that the wait will be worth.

Here is a short video on a snowy night from the light, recorded with a mobile phone.

Dont expect professional video quality, it is just a random video that my friend took when i was shining around.

If it’s not too late, please add my name to the list to purchase a BLF GT Giga Thrower.

Sorry, but group buy has been over for some time now

Hope Neal pulled the money out of the account before the lockdown…

They can also pull money out of the linked bank account for that matter

And here we see again, why free crypto-currencies are so much needed.

PayPal is a mess for dealers…

Hope this gets resolved soon.

In the meantime a first beamshot:

A crane was lighted up behind the houses…
Sorry for the low quality. Only had my phone with me…

Closeup:

And of course the obligatory star wars shot (I hope they don’t sue me for this)

Protocol only: Yesterday I received my GT.
Packaging in very bad condition, but fortunately no problems with the content.
Registered post with batteries. No extra charge.
