Fitorch P20R and Fitorch P30R - Review of new manufacturer flashlight

Hello,
My name is Eryk. I am writing reviews in Polish.
Reviews I translate – google translator.

Looking at the CPF forum I hit a new flashlight manufacturer - Fitorch
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?224-Fitorch

I asked if they would send a model for testing, sent three flashlights: Fitorch P20R, P30R and EC10 (EC10 model is u - @ Krul-Mateusz).
You can read more about their products and specifications here:

Packages of colorful, predominantly black-orange colors, as in Fenix lanterns. By the way, they mentioned something about their history - they had something to do with Fenix and Klarus, so they were quite experienced.

In both cases very rich equipment (identical):

- USB cable

- good quality lanyard for wrist

- good quality holster (case / case)

- spare ring

- spare eraser on switch

- key ring (I have no idea where to mount it)

  • OTG adapter (flashlight can serve as PowerBank)

User manual for model P20R

User manual for model P30R

That’s how the flashlights look

From the top of the P20R model, something similar to the aluminum lace, below it with AR coatings (high light transmission), clean SMO spotlight and very well embedded XP-L2 LED, unfortunately with cold color.

The upper part can be twisted, such was the intention, or someone forgot to seal. We will find here an oring and well lubricated thread.

The headlight is stuck, there is no direct access to it

Under the diode, there is a small hole … (Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to see how it looks like, in a few days soldered wires (I do not have a soldering iron). of copper.

The P30R is already equipped with a metal crown! It looks beautiful. Just like the P20R with AR coatings, clean SMO headlights and the cool XP-L2 LED

Lace is only a decorative item, we can twist it

Next in both lanterns ribs, promises a lot of heat to drain (not so fast)

Button to change modes, working confidently with appropriate resistance, is not an Acebeam EC35, but there is no reason to complain

At the moment of turning on the flashlight, the flashlight informs us about the state of charge of the cell through the built-in diode button. Unfortunately, it shines all the time. I will tell you about it later

On the other hand, a USB port that can be used as a PowerBank, we need to use the included OTG adapter - an interesting idea, but we must remember to bring not only the cable but also the little one. In the P30R the eraser is somewhat hidden, the P20R is equally. Very good quality eraser, I left the flashlight for an hour in a bowl of water - without any problems.

The PowerBank performance or the charging system is about 0.9A

During charging, the switch flashes in alternating colors: green, red …

Interestingly, even on the off lantern if the link is in the middle and connect the charger, it charges 0.25A if we pull out the link 0A.

Without a link we can use the head as a night torch - current consumption is only 0.03A

Both flashlights are factory fitted in a clip, quite hard but without exaggeration

Mole on the midrange and the stripe in the form of striations

The button works hard, the best level - Nitecore, etc. (even the P30R cap from P20R does not) fits Nitecore like MH27UV or SRT9GT)

And while the P30R on the cap, in the P20R rubber protrudes and we do not do - purposeful or error in production? I am putting on a production error

Screws made of thick, hard springs

Thread on the driver side of both models: thick, well done (the best of Nitecore), well lubricated, with O-ring which produces considerable resistance when twisting the torch

On the other hand identical situation (only P30R has less grease)

The drivers in both lanterns look identical, so I will discuss in bulk:

Turn the flashlight on the “asshole” of the flashlight

  • Starts with last mode memory

- One click changes loop modes:
Low 0.03A and 30Lm (more 5-10lm)
Average 0.85A and 300lm (yes it can be)
High 2,5A and 1180lm (in my opinion, it is maximum 900lm)

- hold the button for 1 second, activate the strobe modes (first strobe, hold button and we have SOS)

  • one click, and we have the loop again: low, medium, high)

And unfortunately, the flashlight after two minutes are high to medium mode. I personally believe that every flashlight should work in the highest mode to the very end of the link.
Second note, there are few modes, there is something missing between high and medium.
With the information I received a new version has to get more modes and a temperature sensor. Time will tell.

In the manual I have found nothing about securing the reverse insertion of the flashlight, and I have not tested it personally. The driver design suggests electronic security. They fit all links, but it is best to use such with security.

Fitorch has equipped its flashlight with two systems that inform us about the state of charge of the cell.
The first is:

- link between 4.2-3.5V - switch on solid green

- link between 3.5-3.0V - LED in the switch flashes slowly in green

  • link below 3.0V - LED in the switch flashes slowly in red

The other system is:

- On the off lantern press the side button and turn on the flashlight

  • our cell is charged to the level of eg 3.8V, so the LED in the switch flashes 3 times in green and 8 times in red and then turns on.

Simple and very thoughtful solution (supposedly other companies had this before)

The weight of the P20R model without a cell is 87 grams

By contrast, the P30R without a cell is 134 grams (fair weight, only the temperature sensor is missing)

And so they appear next: BLF D80 and Acebeam EC35

Field shooting, camera settings ISO-200, f / 2, 2s, white balance - Fluorescent H

Review on YouTube:

A few words to summarize:
By reading the specifications and exchanging a few emails with the manufacturer I was very positive about Fitorch flashlights. If not the fact that the P20R under the diode probably has a hole (it will verify it in days) and the driver only has modes: low, medium, high (but it is to change) - these are very well made flashlights.
I do not know what their price will look like when they officially come in the biggest stores - I hope that up to ½ of the price of Nitecore flashlights,
Thread, shell, buttons, clip, reflector, etc. - the level of other leading manufacturers in this regard is great. I told them to create a small size flashlight similar to Zebra, matte like Acebeam, with buttons like Acebeam, with drivers like EAGTEC, and something like Nitecore - let’s see what’s out of this, but let’s look at the best !

It seems to me that it is still waiting for newer models, for the official launch in shops and for better drivers!

Successful shopping !

Eric

Excellent review and thanks!
Very interesting lights. I would love to compare to the Thrunite TTN11/TN11SV2 as well as the Lumintop TD16 as to output and bean profile.

I’ve got the Litesam version of this light. I’m wondering if anyone else noticed this about the side e-switch on these lights:

Although I love the wide flat metal switch, unfortunately I hate the feel/feedback of this switch. The switch is a bit sloppy, klunky and rough and has too much travel before it activates, it’s just not “precise” and smooth feeling like other e-switches, and it makes the mode switching seem “slow” or “delayed” too.

Olight, Crelant, Thorfire, On The Road, Thrunite, Nitecore, all my other e-switch lights have much better feeling switches, more smooth and precise. It’s really the only complaint I have so far with this light, but it’s a big one for me. I hate it.

I’m wondering if I got a bad one or it’s just how they are, anyone else with a Fitorch, Litesam, Vollsion or BORUiT notice this too?

i always have trust issue with light that uses rubber to cover usb port :frowning:
