What blade did you EDC today?

There was some changes not long ago, but i think that was more to allow for workers to have a exact o knife in their work pants and so on.
The 80 - 90 mm blade of a little folding knife are still a no go.

Some years ago they banned all but the smallest caliber air rifles due to some kids/ youth shooting at people with w .22 PCP air rifle, so the same stupid again ruin it for every one when a few make a mistake.

I was fortunate to learn a lot from one of the old black smiths, so for knife making i dident have to hit the books that hard.

The old smitty did put his foot down when i turned up with a nice length of Bofors steel wanting to make a samurai sword, so i cut it in 3 and made 3 nice stilettos instead.
Those 3 went like hot cakes among the gangster idiots i wasted my time with in those days, as if any of those pussies was ever man enough to walk up behind a person and plunge a knife into anyone :person_facepalming:
Actually the only gun action we ever saw was some idiot shooting himself in the foot.
Silencers sold well too, and all you need are a .22 and then press it against the skull before pulling trigger, no can needed for offing a person in broad daylight.

If I had a dollar for every one of those little Swiss Army knives I’ve lost during my lifetime, I’d have at least enough to buy another one. I can’t keep track of those things to save my life.

I too have plans to start knifemaking from old files!

I’ve been collecting files for several years, buying at tag sales, estate sales etc. I only buy the vintage USA made ones. I’ve got probably around 150-175 or so, a lot of really large ones, I want to make some big survival, Jungle types. But I’ve got many medium and small too. I’ve always admired the Anza knives.

.
I’ve already got an HFT belt grinder to monkey around with, (a lot of beginners start with it) plus I have cut off saws, a floor drill press, bench grinders etc etc. that I’ve had for years (I tinker with motorcycles, auto repairs etc.) If I get into it I’m planning to sell almost all my knives to buy a proper belt grinder.

Got a few books, and been following knife makers on Youtube, and I’ve designed some patterns on paper I want to make. I’ve also been studying on making sheaths, both leather and kydex. It’s something I’m planning to do in retirement! But I hope to get started sooner!

On You Tube I’ve always liked this guy, (Gavco Knives) followed his videos around 5-6 years ago:

I also like this lady (Kaila Cumings): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5s0TsAfDlI

So the knife situation isn’t getting better but at least the Danish people are the happiest ones in the world according to several surveys.

Mentioning gangsters I think I’ll have to watch the movie “Pusher” (1996) again to get to know more about the Danish crime scene.

Wow, thanks a lot for the links! :+1:
I also bought a mini belt sander but I’m afraid it’s not good for any serious job. The other thing which still keeps me away is the heat treatment process. I must read/watch more tutorials about it before I’m ready to go.

Gorgeous, I just posted a comment on your blog

Thank you! The UTX85 is pretty but the king of the hill is the HALO V. :sunglasses:

Man, I wish switchblades with a 3" blade were legal in California!

You can’t win all the time!
I could sacrifice this easily for living in California.

I don't live in the best part of California, but I do love it here.

I just noticed something very strange in the OP:

It says that I edited Dale's post two years ago, but I'm not a moderator, and I don't have that capability!

I have been edc this $7 blade for almost one year… major upgrade is coming tomorrow. So please keep in touch with this thread.
