Well my Lowe’s still has these bulbs at the advertised price (no additional discount) - I would have bet money on it. I picked up (4) 4-packs of 5000k (5000k not available in 16-packs, at least not at my store) only to realize when I got home that I should have bought 4000k (when I have decisions like that to make, I choose wrong 95% of the time). So tomorrow I’ll call ahead to have them pull down the 16-packs from the overheads (display was empty today) and keep one at customer service for a quick 5 minute return and $10 refund.
Oh, plenty of each pack at my store, though most in the overheads.
I did a search online and yes, some of the Lowes stores around the country are starting to further discound those 4 packs down to $9.99
Out of curiosity I set my home store to Elyria, Ohio. That is the store I scored the 2 packs for an additional 75% off the already reduced price of $7.49. They have the 16 packs now at $31.99
Something to keep an eye open for. Seems that store is a price cut leader.
They have no stock left on the 2 packs or the 4 packs
I was at the Lowes in Lisbon, CT last night and came across this.
16 packs of the LED’s are 31.99 and the 4 pack is $9.99. So I think it is safe to say that further discounts are coming to a store near you.
These replacement bulbs work great. The problem I have had so far is finding fixtures that have working solid state ballasts. They fail as often as the bulbs. Perhaps these LED’s will be gentler on any remaining I have.
What do you think about the tint? They seem just a tad green to me. I didn’t notice it much in my garage, but in my basement across from some “standard” (E27/A19) 3000k bulbs these look a little green. Also, in my garage they appear brighter than the T8 fluorescents they replaced, even though their lumens rating is less.
Thanks Garry, I never noticed the green. Now I probably will LOL
The only fluorescent fixture I have them in is the kitchen. It’s a 3 bulb fixture with 2 ballasts. One ballast, solid state driver, is NG so only 2 of 3 bulbs work.
I believe I got the 4000K ones
Brighter than the higher lumen Florescents they replaced could be because of the age of the old bulbs
I will look for the green and report back
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I’m talking about the 4,000k ones. The fluorescents I replaced are “4,100k” and in my garage looked dim & purplish in comparison.
I got tired of waiting for the case of 16 LED’s to drop further in price. One day a couple of weeks ago, at my local store, I noticed they loaded the 6500K Daylight bulbs onto rolling carts. Often times that means they are eventually going to be reduced further. The 2 packs I found in Ohio were on such a cart and were reduced a further 75% off.
During the past 2 weeks I was in and out of that store due to a project I was working on. Each time I would check the carts, and no further reduction. I have a friend in another part of the country that is always calling me with deals he made at Lowes. With the carts, just ask for deal he said. So I did.
I found the right person and showed him my slip from Ohio and asked for a better deal on the 16 packs. Originally they were $79.99, now they were $39.99. I asked if he would do $16, and he said yes! Easy as that!
Even got an extra 5% at the register for using my Lowes card.
The coffee shop I go to each morning took 6 cases and gave me an extra $20 for my trouble. I have 3 cases left over, I don’t know what I will do with those. I could get more if I wanted too………………………
I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not, but I’ve had two of florescent lights that I had the above LED bulbs in die (LED bulbs work in other lights, old florescent bulbs don’t work, so I assume the ballasts burned up). They worked for at least 6 years with the old bulbs, and only a few months with these LED bulbs.
I ordered the same thing HONDARIDER. Showed a good number of units in stock, but I didn't plan on being in town until Monday. I just got a voice mail saying the order was canceled because they didn't have the flashlights in stock.
Lowes is closing a bunch of stores “generally locations where two are within 10 miles of each other”. (Why on earth would they need two stores within 10 miles of each other???
Wow, not many updates to this thread! Here’s a deal on holesaw bits I found yesterday:
By the way, let me know if you can’t see the above image. The pic is hosted from my Google Photos account, but I made some changes to the way I’m sharing the photos now for posting purposes and I’d like to know if it works any better.
