WTB Bright illuminated tailswitches

interested in led switch for s41

I use boards that replace the washer, so they are way more effective than on the switch board

any color combination you want
green and blue based phosphor LEDs(white, pink, ice blue) are most efficient

Gen one with balance resistors and trimmers 2x3 LEDs
6 LED

8 LED rainbow

Gen. 2 version has a voltage regulator and trimmers for brightness adjustment

the v2 cross pattern for trimmers are ordered

How does it get power to that???

I too would like a decent illuminated tailswitch for my s41. That rainbow one is awesome… imagine it cycled in a circle too, (like one led after the other but round and round.
I also wanted to point out, in general when people say they don’t understand resistors, values , soldering etc - they actually mean it - me included.
I appreciate the posting of how to’s etc, and guides - but if you don’t understand these things, you don’t understand lol - I seem to have a mental block on things like this too!
Maybe someone could have a good little business doing these for us dummies lol! I’m counting 3 so far in this thread for the s41 alone!

^I agree

Mastyr in the meantime I have one of those illuminated tail kits from Banggood which works ok, in fact I have one in my s41 and 1 in my X6 and the s41 is doubly as bright.
here is a link - LINK
I would imagine you could swap the leds on that IF you are able to solder them and even buy them. It has 2 leds.

that switch LED board needs just 2 leads to the switch connections

I get that bit, I think (1 to the spring, 1 to the outer ring/body contact) but how does it fit in, what leds do you use, where to get them , also the same with balance resistors (the same as a normal resistor?) and what are ‘trimmers’?. All to much for me and my non electrical brain I’m afraid. :frowning:
I would much rather pay someone else to do all that. Roughly how much does all the bits cost?

I would be interested too if someone could supply some. The one lexel posted would be ideal, but alternate blue and purple.

I have tried many times to solder small components like that, and I just can not.

But nobody is apparently interested in making any to sell…

Sure Lexel would sell some, he sells drivers.

As kiriba-ru mentioned , led4power sells Illuminated Tailcap Switches from his web page :

There is some more info in his thread :

I am selling those tail boards

Requires figuring out what resistor(s), and soldering. Looking for turn-key.

I also have ILC-1, which is more expensive version, but it's drop-in module and easy to install,it fits Convoy lights,I'm don't know if it fits S41.

By default there is only one color to choose, but if you want two different colors that is possible since ILC-1 has two separated channels with constant current drive.

I just tried it in my manker E14 (same as S41) and it does not fit.

I think what people who are suggesting links are not understanding is that we want to buy a fully assembled one, ready to go - nothing to do to it.
Thank you for your help though.

The ILC-0 tailcap switch led4power sells you “only” have to solder the spring.

If soldering isn’t your thing maybe you could ask him to do it for you.

I am close to finish my new line of tail switch boards in Rainbow and 2x4LED cross pattern

They got both brightness control with a voltage regulator and 2 trimmers for each channel to set them as bright as you desire

You can choose from 12 different colors, it is also possible to use more than 2 colors on the cross pattern boards, as each LED has its own resistor

I will start the sales topic when I have time

Nice I’ll be waitinf
