I have 3 UT01 delivered january and february 2017 and they are all unfortuantely very greenish. When and where did you buy yours?
My favorite looking tint is the XP-L 4000k 5D tint on the Emisar D4. It is very nice neutral rosy tint with no yellow or green. The Emisar D4 XP-L 5000k 3D tint had a bit of magenta and a hint of blue. It was too cold for me. I think 4000k on the rosy side of the BBL would be perfect for this small EDC light.
Hum, I thought about that too… CNY always brings some “delays”!
I hope “you” manage to get some news soon from LT to boost this project
I’m holding to ask for a second one (or even a third… :person_facepalming: ) till we know the “final” features of this light!
Let’s see if April brings us some good news
Before we go too far here shouldn’t we address the problems the GT group buy is having with Neal ? Here is a quote from the first page:
“Exciting news!
With the active support from Neal we finally found a new partner for our project and the progress is far enough to reveal the name: Lumintop”
I just hope by the time this project is ready to go that the team has found someone to deal with Lumintop and we can avoid the total mess that the GT group buy has turned into.jmtc
I didn’t even know Neal had anything to do with this GB. Does he?
Due to the huge size of the GT, it resulted in a lot of problems such as getting reflectors and shipping it. A little light such as this one is definitely not going to have those type of issues. Hopefully Lumintop can crank out these little suckers at about the same pace as Thorfire did with the Q8, which is about 500 a week.
I’d give more answers, but it’d only be speculation. I don’t have direct contact with Lumintop, and haven’t seen most of the communication behind the scenes.
As far as features go, I’m not sure about some hardware details like emitter type, but the basic host design is unlikely to change much and the firmware is mostly ready. The UI is Anduril, which is sort of like an evolution of Narsil, so it has lots of features. Smooth ramp or a mode group, both configurable, with lots of extras like blinkies and special modes. I should probably put a summary in one of the first-page posts.
Without this UI it’s just another light. (OK, it’s got a lot going for it but imagine if it shipped with the S42 UI!)
The hobby has not been the same for me since Liteflux disappeared, I feel that Anduril has got us right back where we need to be.
Simple is great but some of us like the ability to do more than just turn on the light.
Thank you for all of your effort!
