In all fairness that was just before CNY when china shuts down for a month. We have just now been back in contact with China over the last several days and so far things are going good but things can only move so fast.

Make sure you have filled out the survey in the OP and your issue will be addressed.

Things are moving forward again now but there is still a lot of clean up to do behind the scenes before we are back to “normal”.

I am working on it and Lumintop and Neal are working with me. It just takes some time.

Apparently they also ran out of the very nice AR coated glass lens. They only found one company that can make them. The good news is they are much faster. They should have the lenses next week.

Sadly the GB is closed but there are some used lights being sold in the for sale section and online if you look around.

Good to see this project is moving again and lights still getting received.

Yes, Neal has been very responsive. I think he just got burned out with all the abuse people were sending his way for things outside of his control. Which is understandable.

While he has a direct line of contact and the native language bonus with lumintop, he is still a messenger for many things.

There was just a general breakdown of communication and everything, the CNY was the final straw it seems and everything kind of crumbled for a time.

We are putting the pieces back together more and more every day.

I once again want to applaud Lumintop and Neal for sticking this out. Even after all this hassle and lumintop knowing they could just ditch the GB and sell the lights at full retail for real profits, they are still committed to finishing this GB.

Yes, I am discussing the selling lights outside of the GB with them, that issue is still in the works. I will just say I can’t entirely blame them for what they are doing, but am not happy at all with how they were doing it.

First I wish say “thank you” to Neal, Lumintop and the team for all the work.

No, this week they were out of the lenses, they are supposed to get 1000 more lenses by the end of next week.

Sorry, the production delays are still in effect, that never went away. There were simply more orders then they thought that had not been shipped yet.

The reflectors are still the limiting factor, it just so happens that this week the lenses were also used up.

TA i’ve filled the survey as soon as it was available a few weeks back but seeing as we finally have some communication with Neal do you think I should wait a little longer for a response or just sent him a pm and redo the survey ?

No need to redo the survey. It is just taking time to sort through it all. We still need to organize the survey for lumintop to deal with some of the issues.

I would give it a few more days and see what happens first (excluding the weekend when I don’t expect much to happen).

I only get a few hours each night where both mine and China’s waking hours overlap to really work on stuff.

This BLF GT saga is almost over for me.

Few days back i opened paypal case with request for refund since my light was not sent with the last 50 or so lights.

Today Neal refunded me the second payment…

…but i have no way of getting back my money from the initial deposit, 17 or so dollars. So what is my option here? I do not plan on giving MY money to some random guy/company just because they where unable to deliver what was promised.

Any advice?

Simply request a refund from Neal, I am sure he will give it.

Although most likely not until his account has been fixed. Right now he can only accept payments and send refunds (your deposit payment is too old for a refund to be sent, he will have to send you a new payment). He can not transfer any funds or buy anything with his account besides this (fairly common practice for paypal).

It could take a little while for his account to be sorted out, paypal is not known for being quick in these situations.
