Was looking at your where to buy list but nothing really for Canada. Your Amazon US link will ship to Canada but still ends up being nearly double the price of the Japanese ebay sellers for eneloop. Tried your NL link too but same thing, way too expensive with shipping.

In Canada, I usually buy them on-line from Costco: https://www.costco.ca/CatalogSearch?keyword=eneloop&pageSize=96 They usually go on sale about once a year. They’re more expensive than in the US (as almost everything is), but still not a bad deal considering how long they last. They’re also in some of the stores in Canada, but come with a charger kit. If all you want is the batteries, on-line is a better deal.

Yes, and BTW, the Costco Eneloops are made in Japan. So, you don’t have to worry about getting the Chinese Eneloops like some places might sell.

Yes, and BTW, the Costco Eneloops are made in Japan. So, you don’t have to worry about getting the Chinese Eneloops like some places might sell.

I thought its performance was on par with older generations of Eneloops, not the current generation.

I do not know if they keep production lines with the old process running, but I added a “about” to my sentence to avoid any quibble about possible minor differences.

No, they don't!
That is actually a very good question, because people usually don't think that the most popular eneloop model is not available at IKEA. Since that 1 video is circulating the internet everybody seems to be saying, Get the IKEA, because they are the same as eneloops. But they forget that the standard (and most popular) eneloops aren't available as IKEAloops.

So any recommendations for buying, say, 2 dozen Eneloop AAAs?

I wish I could find the price per cell listed — everything I find is 2-pack or 4-pack etcetera.

And wow do the prices vary.
