Looking for Quick Charge 3.0 multi-port wall charger

Neither one of these supports QC 3.0.

here’s the one that actually does: https://smile.amazon.com/Anker-Charge-Charger-PowerPort-PowerIQ/dp/B01IUTIUEA/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1517840536&sr=8-8&keywords=anker+quick+charge

yeah sorry about that, i linked to the ones i own

l have checked that too. While it has 2 QC 3.0, the remaining ports are not 2.4a as required by the op.

Thanks. Looks nice, but the total output is stated as 40W, so at 5V that would translate to 8A of current. If you take away 3A for the QC3 port, then that leaves you 5A for the remaining 4 ports. 5A ÷ 4 = 1.25A per port, on average.

Also, when I select the US plug, it says it’s “discontinued.”

At this point, I’m still leaning toward the one I linked to in my original post as it seems to come the closest to my requirements since I haven’t been able to find anything comparable that costs less.

Thanks all.

What is it you’re likely to be charging concurrently? Will they all pull 2 amp charge each? If you are going to plug in more than one phone or a phone and tablet then only one of them will be getting the fast charge of QC3.

If you’re planning small battery powered stuff e.g. - I have various things like Bluetooth headphones , action-cams etc…with small capacity batteries. They never take more than 0.5 amp when charging and you’ll be fine.

Phone, tablet, various Li-Ion battery chargers, power banks, etc.

Hi Pete,

I am using Aukey wall chargers last years, we have 4 of these chargers at home with single or double ports. Build quality vs price is really great, the internals are good too, not like one of those cheap PCB build chargers.

There are several models that would fit your needs, they ship fast too, at least to the Netherlands.
Here the models which would intrest you (and no I don’t work for Aukey :stuck_out_tongue: )

Thanks, SpAwN!

+1 vote for aukey chargers, I’ve been using their products for my night time charging, bought for my father, my girlfriend, updated to QC when I got a compatible phone, always liked them

Somewhat of a side question, but I noticed some of the Aukey USB chargers that HKJ tested exhibit fairly high noise. How does noise affect the charger’s performance? Sorry about the newbie question.

Been using Aukey car charger and I’m satisfied with it. It’s build is very good and feels premium, works flawlessly too. I would recommend Aukey. :+1:

I just checked the HKJ tests, I didn’t know he tested Aukey chargers, the single charger has really low noise which is good. The multiple one does have little higher piek noises but I think it is not that bad. Most AC to DC devices will have noise even top noch ones. The models tested are older models with Qualcomm 2.0 I am not sure how the new ones are. it might have lower noise or higher, but I highly doubt it.

For example a co-worker at my work ordered couple of these while ago:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-Quality-EU-Plug-Dual-USB-5V-2A-Wall-Charger-2-Ports-Travel-Adapter-Charger-for/32721755951.html
One of those blew up in her hands, and she came to me to ask whats wrong it, I took a look inside the charger, everything was wrong with this chargers , bad soldering job not good protection and the noise lvl was high on my old Tektronix CRO oscilloscope. And it got really hot after charging while.
So I give her advice to get a Aukey and she is really happy with it.

I just checked my orders and I have ordered, 4 single USB wall quick chargers, 2 single USB car quick chargers and a 16000mAh power bank from Aukey over the years, and these are still running nice, 2 of the wall chargers are used by my son (21 yo) and believe me he uses them daily, the kid is like he is born with a cellphone in his hands so I even give the power bank to him and that also work nice after almost 2 years.

That’s the beauty of chargers that use a detachable cable. You could order the EU plug, and set it aside and use one you have laying around that has a US plug. Those cables were standard on boomboxes etc in the past. If you didn’t throw them away, you have at least one on a shelf somewhere. Buying a new one when you get to a new country could take some time. That was certainly my experience the one time I did.

I’ve been looking for a good multi USB charger for some time. No Anker or Aukey in my country. At least not from reputable sellers. Would be interested in more info on the Tutuo. Especially construction, heat, noise and voltage.

You can always ask me to review a charger, at least when I can get it. Aliexpress and Ebay are usual my favorite places to get stuff. I am also a bit sensitive to price, a charger costing many hundred “Kr” (Norwegian, Swedish or Danish) is less likely to be reviewed that one to 100 Kr (A US dollar is 6-8 Kr).

Any suggestions for chargers to review goes in this thread: Review request for HKJ [USB Power Devices] it will usual take a few months for me to get the charger and review it (If many people ask for the same charger it will be reviewed faster).

I think we’re subject to some of the same constraints due to being in Europe… I’ve resorted to buying chargers at Clas Ohlson and Biltema lately.

I think that particular Tutuo charger might be better not reviewed. There are newer ones. I’m thinking the one with Quick Charge and USB C is more likely to stick around for a while. There are only 8 left of the model linked in this thread. This one has USB C: https://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_603909.html I’ve looked at Amazon for reviews. But they’ve combined ALL Tutuo charger reviews so finding ones for these specific ones is not easy. So of all the Tutuo reviews on Amazon, they’ve got 11% 1 star reviews. Usually chargers that were DOA or stopped working after a month or two. Not sure what that says about the brand in general.

I just bought the RD UM24C (kicking myself I didn’t see there was a new model), and I bet lots of users here have similar meters. Not quite what you do. But maybe someone on here who has one of these could at least have a slightly closer look at theirs?

I lost two chargers recently due to iffy electric abroad. Back home nothing’s died, but next time I travel I want to make sure my chargers will last a bit better. My iPad charger and laptop charger survived what killed my multi USB charger.

I do not see any serious constrains at the moment, there is no problems ordering from other countries for me.
People in Sweden have the problem they have to pay the postal service a fee for everything from outside EU, in Denmark it is for items above Kr 80 (about $13), but the postal service miss a lot of stuff. This may change, the post are very busy explaining the government how unfair it is that parcels from China are so cheap (There is a new postal agreement that will change that in 3 years, i.e. they need to get new regulation before that).

I’ve been looking at Anker on Ebay. But since there are fakes in existence, I haven’t ordered any. I don’t trust Amazon either, even if I could order from the US Amazon. Comingling of products is a problem when there are fakes. Comingling isn’t a problem in categories with no fakes.

Yeah, Sweden got shafted lately. I can deal with stuff under 40 dollars including shipping. But over that and the price doubles.

I did buy the Tutuo with USB C.
