Group Buy: Wuben TO10R and TO46R (real 90+CRI triple XP-G3) - CLOSED!!

I’ll add 1pc emitter board (it’s in addition to my existing order of 1pc TO46R and 1pc TO10R).

There are still some TO46R left to reserve, but please note that we are approaching the 100pcs limit!

A few things to check/remember:

  1. Check that you definitely are on the list: If you got the prices by PM and didn't reply to me you are probably NOT on the list!
  2. I might have missed some post / PM => Remember the abovementioned #1
  3. I'll use message/post timestamps to judge who will get the last ones..
  4. Please show some love to TO10R as well :) It's a great little light with a magnet on the tail. I think I love it even more than my TO46R!

I’m on the list and received PM with the price, so everything is OK for me! :+1:

I have a “request” though, about the “spare” emitters (if there will be any for sale). Earlier on the thread I mentioned I would want 1.
IF - but only IF - there are other spare emitters, I would like to add another 1 (total 2 + the TO46R I subscribed for).

Thank you

So it appears you had to make a small hole through the tail?

The base of the spring appears to be about the same diameter of the tube’s I.D. at the bottom.

So It’s okay to drill through the tail as long as there is enough ledge remaining for the spring base contact area?

Is the tail cap (magnet holder) aluminum or plastic?

No. The small recess was already there.

Right.

Right, as long as you secure the magnet somehow.

Aluminum.

This explains why the tint shift on the TO46R I measured was worse than on the TO10R and the output less than expected. The silicone dome was nowhere to be found…

The hobby is getting serious: we are getting “decapitated” LEDs  :smiling_imp:

In normal conditions I assume that the values would be pretty similar between the 2 lights, right ?

The board, emitters and optics are identical so there should be no difference in the beam. Tint will always vary a bit but three emitters will probably even it out a bit. So I’d consider my TO10R tint measurements more representative of both lights.

Thanks for the explanation and tests maukka!
The thing I found most “annoying” with these LEDs was that even without the optics and lenses, there was a huge green “shift” (?) !
Hopefully that will be corrected with these new emitters

Swapping the optics to frosted Carclo should help with the XP-G3 tint shift. The clear 10507 will always show it.

..or just applying some DC-fix..

=>

[However, I have to say that the tint shift bothers me only when hunting white walls from a short distance..]

That’s what I’ve done too, and it improved the beam a lot.
It lost some meters in distance range (mostly outside) but specially indoor, it became much better!!

Just swapped in three Samsung LH351D CRI90 4000K emitters to the TO46R. Data here.

edit: output is the same with the Samsungs, 1200 lumens.

I suppose the shift will not bother me that much now that the snow is soon gone

Are both of these lights DD in Turbo?

Why does the 10R have only half the lumen output of the 46R?

Is it a different driver? Or because the 16340 cannot provide enough current?

I sure hope these lights don’t all have quality control issues with LEDs missing domes…

I’m interested in one of the emitter boards as well.

Different driver. Not DD.

It’s not typical for Wuben. They have had very high quality, as far as I can tell.

Good. :+1:
