My friend have borrowed my U21 and he like it but the U21 seem to be discontinued, so before i go off on my own quest to find a good 1 X 26560 thrower i better ask in here so i dont cheat myself.
The L2 is the ultimate thrower, a nice tight pencil-beam, but if you don’t mind modding, the F13 is quite good. Nice deep reflector, lots more pockettable, and you can get pretty good 22mm drivers for it.
I have L2 and UT-02.
L2 is a better thrower…but it’s just a thrower. UT-02 is overall a great light.
Frankly I can recommend both, depending on one’s needs.
Look what Thrunite got coming: Catapult V6. Almost identical light but with more output. And with 20% preorder discount, so it’s actually just 60 dollars.
If you want *REAL*throw out of a relative compact, 1 x 26650 light look no further: Amutorch group buy BLF
Assuming the output is the same as it’s predecessor, if will have at least 200Kcd throw and with a little modding (spring bypass, if need be replacing the wires) up to 260Kcd.
And it looks bloody good, too!
The UTorch UT02 is virtually an exact replica of the U21, cheaper too.
A friend sent me a prototype light that is yet to be identified, looks like the U21/UT02 but with some fancier inlays on the tube and fins in the head. I pulled the XHP-35 in favor of an XP-L HI and put ToyKeeper’s Anduril firmware on a scratch built driver and it’s awesome! Wish I knew who made this one…
Edit: FWIW, this copy of the UT02 is pulling 6.39A at the tail and it’s making 1745 lumens from the XP-L V3 3A HI emitter, 211Kcd throw.
I vote for the thrunite catapult v6… use the code v6 and it came out to $59.99. Free 26650 battery is included. I have thrunite light before and the driver is bulletproof… thrunite make excellent light.
If it has to be a thrower as compact as possible the Thrunite Catapult V6 would be my first choice.
Up to 195.000 cd with Imalent battery, 187.500 with Thrunite battery.
Reflector diameter is only 50 mm.
Around 60$ or 50€ is cheap, by the way.
