Thanks TA for the explanation on the modes, had been thinking about that 50% settings and started wondering.
It sounds like my light might not ship to you until Thursday or so, unless I misunderstood the post by Terry,
Yeah, any lights from Terry will not be shipping to me until the end of the week at the earliest, I would guess next Monday as a more realistic time frame since he does not even have a confirmation on the exact day they will be delivered yet.
Feel free to send me a PM about any other mods you want done and we can talk about those as well.
Just to verify, does that mean modes 1-6 are going to function the same as modes 7-12?
It would be pretty neat if modes 1-6 had the 100% setting set to the same limit as the upper ramp limit (say 50%). Then it would function similar to the GT. Modes 1-6 would be more muggle friendly.
I don’t know, that might require a lot of code tweaking that you don’t have time for.
Hey guys just a quick note... If you can see an item on my website that will allow to purchase it then it is in stock.
Please remember I have 2 warehouses one on the east coast and one on the west coast. The green and blue MT09R's that I got the last of were shipped to my warehouse in Arizona and my wife and I are flying out there on Tuesday to begin shipping the orders. Most are going to TA but there are a few that are shipping straight to the customer. Some people just wanted to order the driver from TA and install it themselves.
But if you see it on my website and it will allow you to place an order then the item is in stock. If it is out of stock in will not allow you to place an order.
And I am sure he will appreciate just knowing that we all have him in our thoughts... It is the gesture that matters... I have always respected what a person chooses for themselves...
Thank you... I am still waiting to hear any new news but it may be tomorrow...
Well then I misunderstood so I need to get hopping and get my plan for the build in order for you TA, I bought online at Terry’s store so it will be shipping soon, Oh ya and some CASH for you,
I forgot what mode sets I ended up going with but some of the modes do indeed have the highest mode at around 50%. I have been waiting to finilize the mode groups until HL sees it and lets me know if they want any changes.
I get 20k easily and by easily I mean really it is closer to 21k but I call it 20k because everyone measures output a little differently. Even our tubes will vary little depending on humidity and even if some dust has collected inside of the tube. So I just leave it at 20k.
The reason that is such a big deal to me is that it is with totally stock NW emitters. I will eventually probably swap out the emitters on my personal lights but for now they are totally stock which means that as long as it is a light with stock NW emitters and TA's driver design is what will be going in future batches of the 90r series. This light is now a stock 20k lumen light out of the box.
I think your 22k calc is too conservative. Lumen values at Skylumen are measured otf lumens. So using Vinh’s 21k lumen measurements for the X7vn:
1,140/993=1.148
1.148*21,000lumens = 24.1k lumens. Your modded MT0R should be making 24k otf lumens using Vinh’s lumen measurement as a basis.
Yes… 24000 at turn on. After 30 seconds, mt09r will reach 22000 lumen… my ceiling bounce lumen test is cheap, and I get the result similar to skylumen specs…
Just to be clear, I don’t generally take 30 second measurements with any of my lights, simply because I am not patient enough lol. When you can take 100 or more lumen readings in a day it really adds up.
Also the heat is another problem with high powered lights, after 30 seconds it will be warm and if I need to take a follow up measurement a few minutes later it will still be warm and the cells will be drained which will change the readings.
Generally I take measurements around 5-10 seconds when the output starts to stabilize so I can get a few tests per charge of the cells and heat does not factor into the readings as much (although by 10 seconds it is still noticeably warmer). I then round the numbers down as a rule to help with the under promise/over deliver mentality.
Good to see that the numbers still pan out with 30 second readings reasonably well doing this.
