Texas_Ace MT09R Modding thread, 20k+ lumens, 80CRI, can start fires? Yes please.

Never mind. My 18650 were 3.9v. Have to do it some other time.

Well then I misunderstood so I need to get hopping and get my plan for the build in order for you TA, I bought online at Terry’s store so it will be shipping soon, Oh ya and some CASH for you,

Ok… lumen ceiling bounce is done, my english is bad, so sorry about my grammar…

Stock thrunite tc20, i got 194 lux… 3800 lumen.
Mod olight x7. 993 lux… 21000 rated lumen.
Mod fenix tk72r. 622 lux… 11000 lumen.
Haikelite mt09rTA. 1140 lux… so thats translate to 22,000 lumen.

So i compare the stock light, and other modded lights… lumen specs result were very close…

Mt09r TA version is 22,000 lumen… same specs as skylumen… so 22,000 is legit…

I forgot what mode sets I ended up going with but some of the modes do indeed have the highest mode at around 50%. I have been waiting to finilize the mode groups until HL sees it and lets me know if they want any changes.

I will send you a PM so we can start discussing what all you want done in a little bit.

I get 20k easily and by easily I mean really it is closer to 21k but I call it 20k because everyone measures output a little differently. Even our tubes will vary little depending on humidity and even if some dust has collected inside of the tube. So I just leave it at 20k.

The reason that is such a big deal to me is that it is with totally stock NW emitters. I will eventually probably swap out the emitters on my personal lights but for now they are totally stock which means that as long as it is a light with stock NW emitters and TA's driver design is what will be going in future batches of the 90r series. This light is now a stock 20k lumen light out of the box.

22,000 is legit… i have skylumen modded lights… its too complicated to get the real specs. I did some testing.

So my mt09r is real 22,000 lumen…

Great! Glad to know that my numbers are panning out. Hope you are happy!

I always worry about overrating something, I much prefer to under promise and over deliver.

Wednesday... unless something goes terrible wrong DHL will drop them off Wednesday. We land Tuesday so it works out well.

I think your 22k calc is too conservative. Lumen values at Skylumen are measured otf lumens. So using Vinh’s 21k lumen measurements for the X7vn:
1,140/993=1.148
1.148*21,000lumens = 24.1k lumens. Your modded MT0R should be making 24k otf lumens using Vinh’s lumen measurement as a basis.

Yes… 24000 at turn on. After 30 seconds, mt09r will reach 22000 lumen… my ceiling bounce lumen test is cheap, and I get the result similar to skylumen specs…

So yes. 22000 lumen is real.

Just to be clear, I don’t generally take 30 second measurements with any of my lights, simply because I am not patient enough lol. When you can take 100 or more lumen readings in a day it really adds up.

Also the heat is another problem with high powered lights, after 30 seconds it will be warm and if I need to take a follow up measurement a few minutes later it will still be warm and the cells will be drained which will change the readings.

Generally I take measurements around 5-10 seconds when the output starts to stabilize so I can get a few tests per charge of the cells and heat does not factor into the readings as much (although by 10 seconds it is still noticeably warmer). I then round the numbers down as a rule to help with the under promise/over deliver mentality.

Good to see that the numbers still pan out with 30 second readings reasonably well doing this.

Ok, that hurt a little bit, just placed an order for another $600 worth of LED’s and components to build 30 more drivers for the lights Terry is selling at a discount for the next few weeks.

Good thing too, Only have about 5 drivers left right now which would not even cover the lights coming before Terry sends the ones from him.

I went ahead and ordered an extra set of the 4000k, 5000k and 5700k xhp70.2 LED’s along with a set of 4500k XHP35 HI LED’s since I am sure that at least that will be wanted by someone and it put me over the next quantity discount saving me a whole .50 cents an LED lol.

In other news, these can not be used in the MT09 but I found some 80 and 90CRI XHP50.2 LED’s in 4000k I can order if anyone is interested. They are $8 each if shipped with another order.

Hey guys,

The shipment of these last 30 MT09R. I just got word will be waiting for me when I land in Arizona.

Just in case I didn’t explain my partner is in Arizona and we are flying out there and moving everything here to the east coast. This is why I had that shipment sent to the Arizona warehouse because I knew I would be there from the 17 threw at least the first week of next month.

I still have a decent stock left in both colors and all are NW emitters so that makes at least that choice easy.

Anyone on the fence about purchasing one this would be the best possible time to do that.

As soon as I arrive and sleep a few hours I will begin shipping all of the units to TA that have been requested to go to TA. It makes things much easier on the both of us when I can send 1 or 2 large shipments verses 2 or 3 a week. It also cost us both a lot less in shipping costs. And believe it or not I have these marked down way below retail. Actually, they are priced just a small percentage above my actual cost.

My flight leaves tomorrow, and we will be landing sometime late tomorrow evening after an hour layover in Texas.

So I probably by Thursday I will be shipping out all current purchases.

It would really be a huge help for anyone on the fence to go ahead and get an order placed.

Thanks very much for all the support.

Outstanding work TA, and five days from day sent to day returned.

3000k and 80cri Was the right choice for me! Convinced if others would use this they would choose the same.

Thank you again.

Glad you like it! That tint was quite nice, like an incandescent light but with far far more power.

If I end up with another one of these I might just do that. I have been seriously considering one of the Green ones that Terry is selling, hard to pass up at that price and never had a green light before.

Although strangely I have not gotten a green light yet to mod, so I have not seen it in person.

Do you know if Vinh measures the X7vn at startup or 30s? If he measures at 30s, then given your MT09R is 14.8% brighter, means it could be 24k lumens at 30s too. But whatever that 21k is, the MT09R is 24k relative to that standard.

You’ll be able to see the green when you receive mine. I ordered green from Terry. Hopefully the color the color looks good. I never had a green light either, so decided to give it a shot to be different.

I can’t wait to see it, I have been hoping out on buying one until I could see one for myself.

I just added an option to the OP for laser engraving the TA logo on the light (in black and white obviously). I had someone ask so figured I would add it.

I can also engrave anything else you might want on this light or basically any other light, just contact me for a quote.
