Texas_Ace MT09R Modding thread, 20k+ lumens, 80CRI, can start fires? Yes please.

Please do post them.. Everyone needs to know that this driver you have designed has made this light a major player and at the currant price no one can beat it when it comes to price and performance.

LOL I am waiting to see you order come across my screen... I will be shipping these lights to TA for any emitter changes as well as the driver install Thursday and Friday. Larger bulk shipments cost me much less than shipping them one at a time...

Nope not at all! Quote all you want. It would be very useful for newcomers that don’t want to read through hundreds or thousands of posts get a cliff note of this thread.

@Texas Ace, why not take a Blue version? Blue is best color, not green.

BTW, is there a way we could mod the TA driver to support 9V emitters, like the new 149AM? Would be quite interesting to see if that was possible with the XHP35 version.

I also just added 4 SC01units that are in this same shipment. In case anyone is interested in the SC01 normal retail is 69.99 and my price is 49.99.

It is a 26650 powered light that had it;s own charging units built in and is a really nice little thrower.

If I remember the range correctly it's 500 meters and a 26650 gives you a nice run time.

I just posted these a couple of minutes ago

And come on guys take you face from your palm and get these while you can. I am dead serious when I say that these are all of the Blue and Green lights left at all. And the factory will not be making these colors available again for the MT09R.

I almost forgot. This is also the only MT09R lights I can order at all for about 6 to 8 more weeks until the new driver is complete and being factory installed.

So when these are gone so is this price. In 6 to 8 more weeks when they begin shipping the lights with TA's new driver Haikelite will give me no choice in retail pricing. It is called MOP pricing and basically gives the factory the right to say what a dealer has to charge for a product, This is a very common practice.

So the units I have left are not only the last of these 2 colors but the last that I will be able to sell at 40 percent below retail...

Ok what? Good thing I bought the Blue version. Is there a reason there aren’t going to be any flashy colors anymore?

TA I just sent you a message on Skype you may want to have a look at.

Yes, the blue is very nice as well but don’t think I can afford one of each and I do not have any green lights, I used to have some blue ones (although not this nice of a blue).

Electrically it is possible although the 149AM uses a different footprint and I am not sure how you would actually mount the LED in the flashlight. The pads also look very small, I doubt it will preform as good when overdriven as well sadly just from a quick glance.

That was for the group buy only.. I just talked them into selling me the ones left over from the original group buy... Dale says it just costs too much to mass produce that many different colors.

I just had an order come in... I need you to please send me a PM and let me know for sure that you want it shipped to TA. I am pretty sure you do but I have to make sure,

Check your Skype messages lol

Still got plenty left... I really want to get CV these sold at the current price and now have to buy and install the drivers and mark the price up..

Still plenty of time.

And this light is more of a thrower? I have the MT03 and I really like the flood. It just lit up my path.

The 70.2 has a very unique beam. It throws more than MT03 but I would still consider the 70.2 on the floodier side. I find it having the optimal beam in terms of practical use where you want to get a clear view of your surrounding and also see far ahead.

You guys getting me really interested in the WW. I’ve been using 3x Nichia 219B 3000k in a S2+ host for the past week for my nightime EDC and I absolutely love the tint on that one. Unlike the 3000k Cree XPL and many modern day WW lightbulbs that are very yellow due to being far above the BBL, the 219B seems to be below the BBL and doesn’t look yellow at all. It has a very nice warm rosy tint, which resembles a beautiful early morning sunrise.

How does the tint look on the 70.2 WW? Is it more on the green/yellow or rosy/orange side?

I just spoke to day in the phone a few minutes ago and the extended tube is set up in a 4S configuration and can be used with the MT09R 35 higfh and the MT07S. There will be another tube coming out soon for a 2S2P configuration.

Also the charging unit. He is supposed to be send me the instructions manual for it. the translated version has not yet been completed.

It is set up in a 2S2P configuration.

I have no idea where anyone got a email from him saying otherwise. I even asked him if he had told that to someone in an email. He does not remember doing that. This does not mean it didn't happen but he does not remember doing it.

His daughter is out of the hospital and recovering well. I did not ask for details. In China that would be considered rude.

Thanks guys...

OK… So the Gyrfalcon All-88 is back again in my mental shopping cart… :sunglasses:

Once these are gone, they’re gone. You should have one for the 35 and one for the 70 anyway. Both green and blue versions are truly exceptional and nothing like what we’ve seen in the past. I think you should get both while you can. But should you nevertheless decide to keep only one, then I think it’s super easy to sell; the specs are off the roof with incredible value. And the fact it’s not black or white makes it a sought after collector’s item.

I read through the thread and am interested in the light, just need to decide which emitters.

I saw lots of lumen numbers but no throw numbers. Anyone have any?

I don’t have any 3000k on hand at the moment but I do not remember it have any green in the beam, very warm with the normal XHP70.2 tint shift.

I despise green LED’s but I liked these 3000k. Boro can shed more light on the exact tint I am sure, I didn’t have time to really examine the tint very close.

Indeed, I find the MT09R to be a fantastic jack of all trades light. It throw plenty for most normal things (a dedome should improve that even further if needed). It has a nice flood for close up work. You can run it at a low mode for long battery life or turbo for lighting fires.

I really like the combo of MT03 and MT09 myself.
