I am just waiting for my new lux meter to show up so I can get some numbers from the XHP70.2 GT’s I put together with the prototype mcpcb’s.
Then I will be listing one or both of them for sale. Figure I will auction them off and see how high they can go. I think I have earned making some profit off this project.

JasonWW:
Sorry for the late response. I stopped receiving notifications for this thread yesterday and just woke up and checked to see 86 new messages. Anyway…
Contrary to Teachers response, I would have to say No, there is not a guaranteed supply for people on the group buy list at the level your currently listed (fourth batch of PM’s, #1426 and higher)
Of the 710 people waiting to buy lights, there are only 650 lights available. TA and I believe that there will be a fair number of people that decide not to purchase and/or drop out.
In 2 weeks we will see what the drop out rate is for the 3rd batch. There could be enough for everyone in batch #4 or it might be close.
Then in 4 weeks the last PM’s will go out and it will be a first come, first serve basis. I think everyone that orders in the first few days or week will get one, but if demand is still higher than supply, the people that try to order a week or two after the last PM’s arrive might miss out.
Again, we really don’t know for sure the drop out rate.
Yep… technically you are correct Jason. :+1: That is why I said “the short answer to your question is yes ”.
Because with the drop out rate AND the negotiations of TA with LT to cover everyone on the list…. it is ’just about’ a certainity. Key words are “just about” …….
teacher:
The short answer to your question is yes . You are guaranteed a GT at the GB buy price.
You number 1491 puts you in the 4th Payment PM group.
TA has stated it will be at least a month before the 4th Payment PM will be sent.
.
Texas_Ace:
I am actually discussing this with lumintop as part of the deal for selling the lights publicly.
At this point it is a “lets wait and see how things go before we commit to this but we are open to it” type of answer.
I have ya’ll best in mind, trust me. But I also firmly believe a deal is only a deal if both parties benefit.

Got my PM. I was getting pretty sure I had been forgotten or something I put in 10 of the donations because I felt like the $800 or so raised so far was not enough. Anyway I am like Ralphie in A Christmas Story waiting for his Little Orphan Annie secret decoder ring.

I forgot about TA negotiating to cover everyone. :person_facepalming:
We will see if that needs to be implemented in about 5 to 6 weeks.

Yahoo! Just ordered the light.
I had just enough to cover the flashlight battery expenses. I wanted to make a donation to the team as well but I did not have enough. Is there a link where I can make a donation once I get the funds?

Don’t feel like it is required to donate, it is completely optional.
If you want to you can use the same link you checked out with the first time to donate again later.

Here’s how I can see one way in using the Giga Thrower .
Being a pilot, I fly day and/or night. One night I was on final approach into a county airport and while on descent someone turned off the runway and taxiway lights. The airport was basically blacked out. Being experienced and prepared, I grabbed my 6 D cell Maglite, (it being incandescent) which was the cats meow back then, out of my flight bag and shined it out the cockpit to light the runway. My altitude was 400 feet and dropping fast and my light caught 3 deer on the runway. As soon as they saw the light hit the runway from my Maglite, they b-lined into the trees. I didn’t have to abort the landing and was able to see the landing strip and land without any incidence. While the Maglite did ok in getting me down, the GT would have really been the light to have if it had existed back then.
You can rest assured that the Giga Thrower will always be in my flight bag.
PS. The reason that the landing runway lights went out was due to the local police shutting them off because they thought that my plane was smuggling in contraband/drugs. I filed a a complaint against them and those involved were dismissed from the police force for reckless endangerment of life.
But I will say that the police thought they had something when I basically landed a twin engine with an incandescent flashlight. The officer commented to me that he never saw anything like it.
I have other uses for the GT that I will post here but let’s hear from you too.
LOL, sounds like the movie “American Made”

Asked and answered yesterday.
I will send you a PM with the link myself, if anyone else has a problem PM me and I will send you the link.
And
It seems that one of the links/passwords did not go out in the PM correctly, strange since it worked in the test PM.
For those that can not see the link or password contact Myself or M4DM4X and we will get a link sent to you.

That is an unusual situation. I can’t help you on that. Let’s see if TA or Madmax can give some insight. The order page might be having some difficulty.

please avoid ordering from phones (most issues) and "special" browsers
if you have strange problems try and start with a new session "private window" to avoid cookie monsters ;)

Quick battery question: anyone using the LG MJ1’s for this light? They seem to have identical specs to the Samsung 35E cells, 10A continuous discharge and 3500mAh capacity.

LG MJ1 has a positive flat top that doesn’t protrude and won’t make contact because of the reverse polarity protection of the battery carrier. But an LG MJ1 would be fine with button top.

This was probably answered earlier but this thread is already getting massive. They are still doing another batch for everyone over 1450 correct?
