I really don’t know how accurate it is, but it seems close. We all know when it comes to critical temps, then only a Fluke should be used.

This is why I spent $86.35. I’m pretty sure it’s way overkill for my needs. That said, I like having the top, or near the top products. I could have bought the 62 Max Plus, but I thought the difference in price wasn’t worth it.

found out the hard way
well not really but after i got an IR meter, i wondered why boiling water was never 212

the outside of a glass bowl or cup, with boiling water would be different from the water itself
, a coffee cup would read something else still

not just 1 or 2 degrees but for boiling water, it is like 30 deg F difference!
anyway
the meter does not know what material you are trying to read, either

The 62 Max has adjustable settings for different materials. How well it works, I’m not sure yet.

good thing you got the 5Ah batts, the one on the saw wouldn’t last long.
I got a couple 6Ah FexVolt ones from Amazon for $150 some time ago.
Last much better in my circular saw, vacuum and weedwhacker.
I like the yellow n black.

Happy 75th! Anyway, my drill came with (2) 2 amp hour batteries. They last long enough for my needs. I figured the 5 amp hour batteries will be a better choice since I have to repair my fence which will require a lot of cutting. I paid $107.99 for 2 brand new genuine Dewalts.

You got the 63 max plus. Mine is just the 63 max. Yours is more feature rich, and slightly more accurate than mine.
BTW, I downloaded Fluke’s Emissivity Chart… Thanks!

Thanks. It’s no Fluke, but I like the 22,000 count resolution, and out of the box, the accuracy is fantastic, according to my little voltage reference rig. I like that it has a simple calibration pot, in case it loses accuracy over time.

Pete, I like Uni-T products. I have the UT210E AC/DC Clamp. You can’t beat it for the price.

I checked it out because of your post… And it’s not leaving my head for a while I guess (until I purchase it I guess ). HKJ just posted a review of a high end Japanese DMM… That sucker costs like $1000, haha no thank you.
Maybe I should get a UNI-T DMM and clamp meter too.

Depending on your budget, Brymen 867S is a really nice one for about $175 - fast, accurate, great protection, and 53,000 count. HKJ posted a review of the higher end Brymen 869S not long ago, but the two are very similar.

But for $35, that UT61E was hard to pass.

Got my second Dewalt charger today. I also ordered 2 more 5 amp hour batteries. I’m retiring my Dewalt XRP 18 volt Nicad tools. Nicad batteries suck! I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on replacment Nicad batteries over the coarse of the last 18 years for those out of date tools. No more!

Nice collection. I have two 20V Dewalt drills and really put them through the ringer but they are still working without glitches. Dropped them numerous times from the roof too without problems.

Thanks. I’ve been a tool freak most of my life. I do my best to keep them as close to mint as possible. Here’s a Milwaukee drill I’ve owned for 35 years. It still looks close to new. Believe it or not, it does get used on occasion.
