Olight X9 @ 25k Lumen

I hope this hasn’t been post yet. New movie about Olight X9R With Active Cooling

I would definitely want the option to attach a solid handle for such a big light.

Not me. I would prefer a sling to carry it.
Using a sling makes it not only easier to carry - especially for a prolonged period - but you can put the light away and have both hands free without the necessity
to put the light down somewhere.

It’s a fantastic looking light though, makes me drool…………but I’m afraid it will cost a small fortune.

Cheers
Nico

The X9R actually does NOT have active cooling. The X9 prototype had a fan, but they abandoned that design and went with basic cooling fins.

I thought the MT03 already has a ramping driver with memory.

No, only the new mt09r has ramping, but it’s nowhere near as good as Narsil.

The early MT03 had xhp70 and a constant current driver with 9,000 lumen.

The newer mt03 has 70.2, a FET driver and 12,000 lumen.

Both are the regular low, medium, high, etc… style UI.

Olight posted a new video now so guess a release is to be expected soon…

About time :+1: Cool video too!

There’s the reason of their high prices. All that testing equipment. Lol

Agree… I had a stock mt09r ramping mode is like a grasshopper. TA installed narsil v1.3 and ramping is smooth like a butter.

25k lumen thrower seems like

I would hesitate to call this a thrower. It looks more like a general-purpose type of light.

Yes… if u want a thrower, xpg2 dedome, xpl hi, xhp35, sst40 shave dome…

In other words, you need to have a certain ratio between the emitter die size and the reflector size. The X9 has big ’ol emitters and fairly small reflectors. You can see in the video that the hot spot is quite large and spread out. It even has an OP reflector (in the older pictures) with spreads the beam a bit more.

Also i see a preorder on ebay, not sure how legit but looks like it…

Ever since they announced it wouldn’t be actively cooled, I’ve lost all interest in the X9R.

Are any of you guys still interested in it?

Lots of lumens does not mean throw at all.
Throw is very weak on this one, this is a flooder, massive wall of light, 34Kcd estimation on the 370meter of throw specs offered before, maybe the specs changed in the mean time, but I don’t see why, nothing else changed.

I am Very interested in this light despite it will not have active cooling still not 100% decided yet tho if i will buy it… i mean it would probably have costed more then Acebeams x70 then :frowning: i dont see a problem if this light can run 5m highest isnt that good ? But either way it will be their brightest and biggest light so far its a shame they didnt manage the active cooling but what the hell … look at that thing its gorgeous.

For $600 I’d rather buy one of SkyLumen’s major flashlights.

Imalents DX80 is even brighter and can be had for around $220. I know their quality is not the best, but that is a huge price difference.

IDK, maybe Imalents sale is gone.

If I wanted a mega light with no active cooling, I would be inclined to look at Astrolux’s MF03 that they are working on. If Mateminco uses Lexels buck driver and a 5S2P battery tube it could be a 48k lumen light. It has my interest.

For this price, I can get a couple MT09R with TA’s mod using P2 bin emitters, which should produce similar lumen outputs. The only thing I like about this light is the build quality, looks, and how it has a front proximity sensor that shuts off if it detects something close in front of it to prevent fire and injury if you have kids.

Otherwise, the Acebeam X70 with 40k lumens and active cooling is far more interesting. I wonder what Skylumen can do with an X70vn.
