[PART 2] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Closed, but Public sales open!

Rude points do not block posts and do not cause bans.

These modes. I know them. The struggle is real.

Yes TK, very real…. and not limited to BLF either. For me anyway……

Jimmy007, I am genuinely curious & this is an honest question.

What do you feel you are “pointing out” that has not already been pointed out?

The things that have been pointed out have been answered with the action being taken to resolve the problems. When answers are available they have been & still are being given to the concerned individuals.

Have I missed something else that is concerning you?? If so, I would honestly like to know what it is.

Thank you……

so if paypal protection is already over and i did not receive my blf gt in case it was lost during shipping will lumintop resend another one to me along with the bag since the bag is got the same shipment and it does not change the information since 11 feb
no new message from neal and leo until now

Not to worry, you will not loose your money. You will either get the GT or a refund, BLF will ensure this. If lumintop screwed people over this now, it would ruin their reputation and they know it.

They are simply (justifiably) worried that both the first GT and a replacement would show up and they would not be paid for the second one.

All of the lost lights were shipping with registered mail which does not have insurance. This is one reason they are using DHL for most orders this time.

if it only the flashlight got delayed seems possible to me but the bag for the GT that i order from neal is suffer the same problem too.
i hope it doesn’t lost during shipping :person_facepalming:

Like I said, you will get a refund if it is not possible to ship to your country, which is the case in some of these situations.

That is part of why they are waiting for the package trace. If it comes back basically saying that the a reshipment will suffer the same fate, well they are not going to ship another one naturally and will instead send a refund.

Lol, I have the same problems with firearms. I’m to the point now between handguns and flashlights, I’m coordinating carry combos depending on weather, location, and activity.

Maybe you should build a domed/sliced XHP50 GT. We are curious about the results and beamshots on this tree. How far is the tree?

Wow! Those are very good results and very well done beamshot by TA. :+1: :+1:
I am guilty of no contribution of beamshot with GT. In severe procrastination mode nowadays.

Were those mods done on the stock driver?

Texas_Ace

Yep, been there, done that. I ended up deciding that while a .45 is fun on the range, it is too big and cumbersome for an EDC. So I moved over to the 9mm. Then you have all the variations like .40, .357 sig, 5.7mm ect that would make it even harder to decide if they were cheap enough to consider.

I have wanted to do that as well although I am going to guess the results will be basically the same throw with a lot less lumens based on the numbers. The biggest issue is the mcpcb, finding one that would fit and be 12v could be difficult.

Is anyone else concerned about build quality and QC issues with the GT?

I am concerned that there will be significant variations in how each LED and reflector will be focused and getting a GT that is true to spec will be somewhat of a lottery… I read somewhere in the 1st batch a member ordered 2 GTs, one for himself and one for his dad and the one for his dad was visibly less focused and had significantly less throw than his. He had to adjust the height of the LED or shave the base of the reflector on his dad’s GT to get it to focus properly….

I think I was the only person that tried to alter the reflector height to try and improve the focus. I noticed my black centering ring had a small warp underneath it which made the reflector sit a little higher then I think it normally would. So I sanded down that black spacer so that it’s middle area was nice and flat.

I don’t think it made any type of noticeable difference in the size of the hot spot or corona.

It might have been too small of a change to actually see and unfortunately, I didn’t take any lux measurements before or after.

I remember the situation that you’re referring to, but I don’t remember the outcome. It might have just been an instance where one reflector had a slightly smoother finish than the other reflector which created some type of visible difference. I can’t remember if the hotspot size was changed or if it was only a change in the corona size. Maybe someone else can say more on the subject.

Besides the reflector smoothness, which will always be a compromise between quality, cost and speed, the overall build quality and quality control is very high. When you hold it in your hands or take it apart, it looks and feels every bit of a 300 to 400 dollar light. I think everyone agrees on that.

(My honest opinion. No, I don’t work for Lumintop. Lol)

Yes Jason, I think it was your post I read… it unsettled me a little bit. But I guess if you say nothing to worry about, its good enough for me. Thanks for responding!

Just got a text from DHL saying that my package from Lumintop has been shipped.
Awesome ! I might have it this week then.

Thanks to everyone involved in this project that made it happen. You are awesome !

The 1337 meister!
Good to hear.
