Blame It On The Bossa Nova - Eydie Gorme

Can't listen to this without moving - somehow

Hmm… Bossa Nova, Bossa Nova… eh, close enough.

The only guy on the planet who could wear head-to-toe leopard-print, and cowboy boots, and pull it off.

Get lucky from Russkaja:

I can relate. I grew up in the 60’s. Great tune I haven’t heard in years.

I met him at Crazy Eddie’s in Syosset back in the early 80’s. He was with his manager who was a complete dick to me. Aldo was cool though. He told his manager to chill out. I spoke to him for about 10 minutes about the stereo system he was thinking about buying. Cool song BTW…

Yeah, it’s funny how sometimes you expect the star to be the one with the attitude, and others need to keep him down to earth, when it’s the other way around, that the star’s the one you’d want to hang out with and those around him are the douches.

A guy I worked with used to work at… I think it was Sam Ash… and had some Big Stars come in and just be great guys to hang around with.

Was that the CE on Jericho near Underhill Rd (west of SOB/Jackson)? Wow, that’s a blast from the past…

Crazy Eddie’s was just east of Jackson Ave by maybe 1000 feet. Guess what, I met the guy that used to do the Crazy Eddie commercials. They did one at the Syosset store. At the time I was living in Plainview. You know where that is?

East… hmm. Nowadays there’s a McD’s, small mall with a Petco, etc., and am drawing a blank if I recall CE being there.

Oh yeh, Eddie Antsomething. He’s funny…

Depends which area(s). Knew everything from BHR/OCR where the IHOP used to be (damn, miss that one…), up to pretty much the beginning of Woodbury (Manetto Hill Rd).

Used to be (maybe still is) a really nice sit-down chinese-food place in the supermarket “mall” (Shop Rite?).

Damn, getting nostalgic now…

I lived behind Morton Village Shopping Center. Grace Street. Look it up on google maps.

BTW, Shoprite used to be Finest Supermarket when I lived there.

One other thing, I went to Joyce Road Elemeteray School, Mattlin Junior High School Right off Manetto Hill Rd on Washington Ave, and Plainview/ Old Bethpage High School. Graduated in 1970

Also graduated in 70. During our graduation ceremony, they played this song here.

Aha, okay. Didn’t know it by name, but think that’s the one which has/had that nice hardware store and hobby store.

Dunno if they’re still there, though.
