Olight X9 @ 25k Lumen

I am Very interested in this light despite it will not have active cooling still not 100% decided yet tho if i will buy it… i mean it would probably have costed more then Acebeams x70 then :frowning: i dont see a problem if this light can run 5m highest isnt that good ? But either way it will be their brightest and biggest light so far its a shame they didnt manage the active cooling but what the hell … look at that thing its gorgeous.

For $600 I’d rather buy one of SkyLumen’s major flashlights.

Imalents DX80 is even brighter and can be had for around $220. I know their quality is not the best, but that is a huge price difference.

IDK, maybe Imalents sale is gone.

If I wanted a mega light with no active cooling, I would be inclined to look at Astrolux’s MF03 that they are working on. If Mateminco uses Lexels buck driver and a 5S2P battery tube it could be a 48k lumen light. It has my interest.

For this price, I can get a couple MT09R with TA’s mod using P2 bin emitters, which should produce similar lumen outputs. The only thing I like about this light is the build quality, looks, and how it has a front proximity sensor that shuts off if it detects something close in front of it to prevent fire and injury if you have kids.

Otherwise, the Acebeam X70 with 40k lumens and active cooling is far more interesting. I wonder what Skylumen can do with an X70vn.

We have a big difference between Olight X9 and the Acebean X70. About the same size but 12 XHP-70.2’s on tiny reflectors, that XHP-35 HI center led might get glared out even if it does throw. Slower than Chinese mail but the Olight X9 has 6 well spaced out XHP-70.2’s. I never was a fan of active cooling, more parts more drain. For myself the X9 is a big general purpose light. The X70 is a short range flood master with an extra led taking up reflector space. I’ll probable not buy either their much more than I’ll ever need. If I had too Olight wins the design and slowness award.

Needs more cowbell please.

I have 40000 lumen light a year and half ago… it’s just crazy and heat very fast…

I might not even buy this light if it have built in battery pack.

It does use a battery pack.

That’s a no no for me.

U can replace the battery pack on x9 unlike the x7r…, there are videos of it nothing strange, and they will sell battery tubes as extras too they said.

I assume Newlumen prefers charging his cells individually like with the GT as opposed to an 8 cell, wrapped and spot welded pack that you can only get from Olight.

What is this about the X7R? I thought it had four individual 18650 cells.

EDIT: I see they changed a lot on the R model. I thought it was mainly just a boost in output, but it looks like it’s a completely different light. It really sucks that you can’t even take the batteries out of it, but then again they might have been able to do balanced charging on each of the four cells. I’d have to do some more research to find out for sure.

Yea i think the x7r has 4 x samsung 30q 3000mah or something, really stupid u cant even take it out to buy extras if u need that, for the x9 u will able take it out which is good. thats why i didnt buy the x7r for the sealed battery because overtime u gonna need replace those and then u need send in the whole light to olight which is a hazzle…

Olight posted an unboxing video of this now.

I’ve got a newsletter from Olight.us today, saying that you can buy the light at only $150.00,if and only if you purchase it on June 8th.

not quite,

Μea culpa,I didn’t see well. :frowning:

Well the MSRP is 600$ so… 150$ is not gonna happen :expressionless:

why not? it says so on Olights own website ? why would they lie? even facebook they wrote it…

Well, let’s just hope that Martin provides a nice code to get it for $ 150,00. How about a groupbuy? :stuck_out_tongue:

nope

Olight did block all my "sources" in the past...

they offer 150 discount (20% off) from the 600 USD price (being 450 then)
