What's your travel flashlight?

I mostly do 2 - 4 day road trips in the Southwest (California, Nevada, Arizona) and take two. Keep a Thorfire TG06S with 14500 in my pocket - starts on high, good pocket clip, cheap in case I lose it. I also have an Olight S15R that I use in the hotel room and for things like going to the movies where I would need instant access to moonlight. I also take the magnetic base so the Olight serves as the charger for both lights.

If traveling by car, I take quite a few with me and in the car.
If by air, usually two or three. The last couple of times they were zebralight sc600 III HI and eagletac d25c Ti. One extra 18650, one cr123, and a single cell charger with USB

Usually a Fenix HL21, E12/Jetbeam 1mk, LD01, and Eagle Eye X6R XPL-HI.

+1. D25Cti with trits for me. Also like to take a small thrower with me when going to a nice location with a lot of nature, for spotting animals. Next trip to France probably the D1s.

Honestly usually a Eagle eye x6 I built. A case of batteries. And I’ll either take my ea41 or tn4a with a extra 4 pack of eneloops. That way for some unknown unforeseen event that hopefully never happens. I have a light with decent output I can find batteries for at any gas station.

Nitecore TIP or Acebeam UC15

Utorch ut01 or Jetbeam Jet1 MK, typically. If it’s a longer trip and I have room, I will take convoy s2+ as well.

sc600w mk3 hi

The ‘when (as in what time of year), where, and how long’ are the deciding factors for me.

In dead of winter, in unpopulated areas, I might carry a Yezl Y3 with an MTG2 emitter and three 26650s in it, as well as my perpetual Thrunite T10 and a reliable 2-AAA penlight in my shirt pocket. Currently I really like the IYP365 with its 219b emitter.

In summer, no matter the situation, I’ll always have the latter two. If I’m away for a lengthy period, I’ll carry a spare 4-pack of lithium primaries for each in my shaving kit.

In addition, I always have a decent headlamp (like an HO3) not too far away - in my day pack, the console of my truck, and my suitcase. When something needs fixing, I want to have the use of both hands.

Modded Astrolux S42 triple. XP-L HI with Lexel TA driver. The main reason…rechargeable.

Traveling I don’t mind taking the heavy duty ones. HaikeLite MT03 with TA driver mod is what I’ll be taking with me. And Emisar D4 in the pocket

Question’s kinda vague. “Travel” as in camping out, or “travel” as in a business trip to Chicago, or “travel” as in a cruise around the tropics? Access to AC/USB for charging? Restrictions as in carrying Li cells? Etc.

In most cases, for me, it’d be the same lights I EDC, maybe even more.

Last time I travelled I took-
Thorfire TG06S (AA NiMh) as bedside light for my wife
Yupard 16340 with RGBW as bedside light for myself
Thorfire C8S to look at things further away
Thorfire TK15S for EDC
Convoy S2+ to compare with TK15S
Nitecore Tube as it is always on my keys

for travelling I’d carry my SC600w HI IV and a Olight UC charger

Probably just whatever i’m EDCing - for the last 3 months it’s been UTorch UT01. Been great so far. Coldish light but I allow that due to its low cost, tiny size, decent UI.

Convoy C8 and a ET D25C Ti. clicky the last time I visited family in L.A…

For T.G. week in Santa Fe, it was a 3Tronics triple and the ET.

Appropriate chargers, as well.

My travel light is FourSevens Mini 2AA. Small, thin, great runtime, AA, twisty (no tailcap failure), tailstand, Floody,

Size and weight are my major concerns when packing for a trip. To keep those down, I typically bring a light with on-board charging. Usually it’s a TIP CRI, plus an Olight H1R if I expect to need a headlamp.

If I’m going to be spending time in the wilderness, it’s a different story, of course.

Olight S1R, plenty of light for a short trip, bring the USB charger for a longer trip.
