What's your travel flashlight?

Size and weight are my major concerns when packing for a trip. To keep those down, I typically bring a light with on-board charging. Usually it’s a TIP CRI, plus an Olight H1R if I expect to need a headlamp.

If I’m going to be spending time in the wilderness, it’s a different story, of course.

Olight S1R, plenty of light for a short trip, bring the USB charger for a longer trip.

I’d take a Skillhunt h03 , a nichia lumi.tool, a handful of tube lights and a bag o batteries .

My EDC UltraTac K18 with its micro charger unit.
My gray Emisar D4 XP-L HI for showing off.
My TOMO T4 for charging stuff and carrying spare 18650s.

Once the switches are sorted. It’s probably one of the better all rounders. once you go over a S2 or C8.

That story deserves its own thread.

It's unique (but not very believable in my opinion.)

I like the comment:

"First day with your new p*nis?"

I remember reading that a few days ago! Definitely hard to believe, but a review session for a final? There's a lot I'd do to not miss it.

Anyways, I travel with my Astrolux S41, a Xtar VP2 charger, and a couple LG HG2 cells. The S41 has a great low moonlight mode, more than sufficient higher modes, and a bright turbo. If I'm EDCing it while not traveling, I use 18350 cells in it.

Regular international travel with work, I carry an emisar D4, skilhunt h03 and DQG On my keys. Single 18650 usb charger.

I’m paranoid about losing a light to the airport security Nazis, so only carry lights I can afford to lose.

Convoy S2 :+1:

no special one

FW3A

also a photon X on keychain ( 2 2032 cells , very tiny, many modes )

wle

Personally I used Nitecore EC20 for my recent trip to Tanzania (yes, travel industry is alive). I ordered a private tour at altezza and climbed to mount Kilimanjaro with my good old flashlight. Maybe it is not the best flashlight on planet Earth but this gear was in the right place at the right time. That’s why it become my favorite travel flashlight.

Lumintop FW3A + Lumintop HLAAA

I usually have a Rovyvon A5 as a necklace(yeah weird but I prefer it there than with keys), an AAA light in a pocket organizer, and a 18650 light clipped on me somewhere.

Olight S1R (NW, 10C cell). True moon mode, low follows moon, nice beam, small, direct turbo, excellent clip.

If not toyed around with, one charge lasts long enough.

A keychain light (i3E, 4000K, CRI 85) as backup is always with me anyway.

OTR U18 because it is my smallest 18650 with charging at the moment.

Lumitop tool 2.0.

2x 14400 and if needed can use AAs.

I keep an Acebeam X70 with spare handle, an HL55 and HM50R in my truck at all times.

That’s a serious SOB of a light.

This thread shows how much of an over packer I am.

Recent three weeks in Armenia:

Armytek wizard headlamp
Zebra h53w backup headlamp
KR1
Tool aa
Rovyvon a5

Along with some extra 18650s and eneloops

What did I actually USE?

Just the tool AA

The last time I travelled overnight, I carried my SC62 (not the sc62w because I might cry if I lost it) and my DQG Slim AA Ti, plus a small USB single-cell Li-Ion charger. The Slim AA looks better if I have to appear more formal, and it can also use AA in a pinch (though I carry it with 14500). Empty spare cell holder is packed somewhere - they’re basically disposable to me at this point, I have so many, and I can safely store cells there if needed.
