Got my leds a few days ago, and I must say, they are really nice. The LH351Ds trump my 4000K nichias in just about every aspect, more output and less tint shift, but they are a little bit colder (4200K). I put some in a triple and it’s awesome.
The 3000K LH351Bs are also nice and warm, and are a perfect fit for previous XP-G2 lights.
Did AEDe go missing? ( he has been offline for 8 + days. I sent him some messages but haven’t heard back. (been trying to get 4 of each of the 3000K & 4000K high CRI LH351’s for the BLF Lantern project testing.
When I’m not at home or on holiday, I still daily check in on BLF but I consider that as borderline idiotic behaviour, perhaps AEDe lives a more normal life than some of us :person_facepalming:
I used one of my LH351Ds here (it’s in German). It’s much nicer than the XP-L2 4000K 90CRI when used in reflectors. At very high currents the tint becomes slightly pinkish/reddisch, which looks very nice. The tint is very even, but still not perfect, the corona ist yellow.
I’m happy that there is finally a XP-L sized high-cri LED with good tint. To me it’s the most obvious size missing in Nichias offering, sadly, because I think it’s probably the most practical of the current sizes.
I’m also interested in trying an LH351D it in a reflector light, so I might stick one in my C8, which is kind of ugly with a 219C. It looks great as drop-in replacement in all the 3V Armytek lights and also behaves much better with a XP-L size optics because the size is much closer. I’m really happy to have an option that is physically so similar to the XP-L. I do notice a tint shift with current as well, but it looks pretty good on all levels, and especially at higher output. Since the 219C is often a little green to begin with it subjectively seems rather similar side-by-side.
That’s really nice from you Djozz !
To be honest was hoping to buy 4 for a single and a triple but I can always test it with one or two and buy more later if this can happen
