Swapping out to Lexels driver would be worth it to get the better regulated middle modes, but I’ll have to see how hard it is to change these battery contact rings, seems it’s a bit tricky, I’m glad he epoxied the components on the driver he customized for my BST, I’ve read already where someone who tried doing it with hot air had the topside components fall off.
But re flashing does sound interesting anyway, can you point me to those $3-4 parts and instructions?
.
“useless” features? Do you mean useful?
Can the strobes be disabled by user in stock Q8 Narsil?
lexel, is it possible to kill turbo mode so it can never be accessed? I happen to go to turbo all the time back from the lowest level and probably through some other sequence, and my LED would not survive that anymore.
It is possible to flash the turbo to be like amy % FET PWM you want to reduce average current, even if you go backwards or enter thermal calibration
Removing from reverse modes should be possible but that needs more investigation how the code has to be changed
The main option is what you want it to do when power is first applied. Meaning what the tail switch does.
You can choose nothing, 2 short blinks, full turbo and I think moon.
I think you can choose 2 channel or 3 channel. 2 channel is something new so I’m not familiar with it other than its supposed to improve reliability.
Since he uses NarsilM v1.2. he might be able to set the ramp to 80% with dbl clk for turbo. That’s a good option to have.
You can use the spring from your old driver or order a new one. Shipping is cheaper if you solder the spring. It ships flatter. Anyway, I’m sure Lexel will get you sorted.
