Sub-lumen pics

I just got a ZL SC600 as my tax money treat (thanks Tim!) and I wanted to see how my lights with low low modes would compare to each other. I found the .2 lumen Zebralight SC51 to be much brighter than the .1 lumen lights. More than double I'd say. My newest Predator seemed half as dim as my old one. The old Predator and SC600 were about the same, so supposedly .1 lumens.

The SC51 was too bright, or just too small to properly focus

The SC600 let me photo it's glow

Now the cool thing that happened. When I took pics of the Predators they gave me really cool looking colored rings. First the older one gave off blue and green rings.

The newer one gave pink and green rings.

Moving the light around gave different patterns and colors.

Then here's a couple pics with the lights side by side. "Robot eyes" looking emitter pics.

My SC60 (thanks again, Tim!) is rated with a 0.2 lumen low. It's my first true ultra low light and I am stunned at just what 0.2 lumen can do. It's more than enough to read by or to navigate a dark room. Funny how a 30 lumen light seems like a useless POS in regular use but one that does less than 1 lumen seems useful as heck. LOL!

I've gotta get a pic of my xtar d06 on super low. It might be even lower than these....tough to say w/ photos...but you can barely tell it is on if there is ANY ambient light.

Glad you guys are enjoying those Zebras. Those were the first lights that actually gave me profound appreciation for ultra low output (aka moon mode).

If you guys haven't tried one yet, I highly recommend the thrunite ti with moon mode.... It's quickly become one of my favorite commercially produced lights :)

Odd but:

My SC51w had a LOT of brighter 0.2 lumens low-low THAN the new H51 cool white... I really don´t know why?

Maybe the driver is different since new H51 does not seem to have PWM on lowest mode and my SC51w has it. New H51 still had noticeable PWM on H2.

Does anyone know more about these?

What about SC600 and SC600w, anyone to share experiences on lowlow?

The low-low on my SC600w is lower than my SC60w or either of my 51w lights. For me its too low. I understand the uses for it, it is just too low for MY purposes.

I use the lowlow with ceiling bounce as a night light. It is enough for that so I suspect it is more than 0.2…

SC600 seems much lower. It’s enough to be able to navigate around, but you can’t ceiling bounce it like the SC51 lowest setting. It’s really nice not having to lock out the tailcap on the SC600.
