YLP Gryphon G180 review with measurements (9*XP-G2, 3*18650)

That looks like a really practically sized light. Looks wise the Manker MK34 is more appealing but this one has a much better UI. I wonder how hard is it to swap emitters on this light so you can use 219B/C in it. Would have been better if they up the turbo to match the MK34 though. Btw, excellent review as always! I enjoy reading them.

Left: XP-G2 4000K by stock,
Right: Nichia NVSW219C SM503-D240-L1-R9050 (5000K CRI > 90)

Lux (maximum) from 1 meter:

level G180 by stock Nichia 219C
level 4 12 250,00 8 810,00
level 3 8 340,00 5 920,00
level 2 3 320,00 2 070,00
level 1 670,00 458,00
level moonlight 29,30 15,08

Nichia 219C version have more smooth beamshot.

I’m also make version with HI-CRI LED Samsung LH351D SPHWHTL3DA0GF4T0Q6 (4000K, CRI > 90). Photo and lux coming soon.

Is the only source to buy this flashlight the one in Russia or are there any plans for a sale via Banggood, Gearbest, Fasttech, HKEquipment and so on?

Just buy yourself a Noctigon Meteor 219C, it is 98$ now on intl outdoor:

Meteor too fat, too short, too overhead interface.

s. all new Meteor have defected body - problem with knurling

Thanks for the review. Refreshing to see no silly lumens for 30secs mode! A tripod thread would be a good addition.

Tell us more about these „defected bodies“, please. I just bought a Meteor M43 with XP-L Hi and I did not find any defects on the knurling/body so far. I only found out that the new body has only one hole for a lanyard whereas former versions had two holes.

You can see it on photo.

Sorry, I don‘t see any real problems on that Meteor. Can you please pinpoint the defective part?

It’s not really defective, but rather that some knurling is not well done on the top and bottom parts of the light.

Could be just an issue on your light @MaksVasilev.

Today I received a flashlight M43 and …
I am very disappointed with the product. I counted on top quality and got a flashlight that is not centrally set. The torch I got, has diodes not symmetrically in relation to the switch and it irritates me very much.

Backstage of making a beamshot:

Target - small photo reflector ⌀ 105 mm, distance between light and target 1,0 m

Sansung LEDs G180 have very smooth light and very wide and homogeneous in center. Also this have little less red tint in light.

Compare with Manker’s MK34

Sample photo from nature.

Pairs of photo have differences in White Balance for compare only light distribution and wide of spot. Left column - Nichia wich WB=5000K, Right column - Samsung with WB=4150K

Nice high quality photos. Too bad the LH351D isn’t being driven harder cause the lux would be a lot more comparable that way.

Is there any resistor mod or something that can be done easily?

Table in previous post in lux, not lumens. Samsung have more wide beam and with same lumens from flashlight have less lux in one point.

I understand but still the LH351D can be driven much harder than either of those LEDs and considering they are under a TIR and not a reflector I suspect the Samsung would equal the Nichia lux at some point even with it being more wide of a beam.

Lumens/amps:

From your lux it seems to be catching up slowly. Maybe it wont be as drastic but still the harder it's driven the closer they get in lux

Nichia Samsung
8810 5690 0.645857
5920 3720 0.628378
2070 1271 0.61401
458 288 0.628821
15.08 17.76 1.177719

Those are very professional comparison shots. Very helpful! I always thought the LH351D driven the same would be brighter than the 219C. Do you have a way to test the lumens?

When G180 with nichia leds will be available?

I hope this flashlight becomes available on more sales platforms soon. I’m really interested in buying one.
