I’ll convert all the order and make final correction in excel/gsheet. Posting and updating the orders via this thread is not as easy, especially with my vintage phone. Bear with me
And thank you for bringing this under roof for us.
On a side note, if the sw45k will eventually run out, do you plan to stock some alternate 4500K-ish Nichia emitters with 3535 footprint? (I know, that for example, 319A is at most R8000, but could be useful, if someone seeks a balance between output and color fidelity)
The closest match to 219B D220 sw45k R9080 is E21A D220 sm4550e R9080. But this particular CCT/tint is only available in very small sample quantity (100 pcs at most) or …… approximately a million pcs. Those sextant binning is only made to order.
So, for our needs we will have to live with E21A D220 sm453 R9080 or cherry pick ourselves from the sm455 or sm457 reel. There’s another option: wait for special requests from big companies such as Panasonic, Toshiba, or GM.
FYI, Nichia made special 149AM R9080 (unavailable to normal public) specifically for Panasonic’s stadium lights. HD TV football broadcasting is a big business in Japan.
I have both
I like the SW 40 9080 better, though it is slightly yellower than my picky self wants
I find the SW 45 way too pink, and unexpectedly, also way too violet
here is a comparison photo
its not a perfect example, but, it shows the violet of the sw45
shining on the palm of my hand, the sw45 is ridiculously too pink compared to the sw40. again not a perfect example, but you get some idea:
My solution to which is better, is to get both and then decide. I find I usually choose not to use the sw45, and mostly choose the sw40. The exception where I choose the sw45 first, is during the day, when the environment is brighter. But now that I know the violet cast is there, I notice it all the time.
I know a lot of people think the sw45 is the ultimate, and for the selection they have, it probably is. But imho, the SW40 is “better”
when in doubt, definitely get both
one more, this one shows the sw45, w a sw40 9050 and sm40 9050… but the 4000k units are representative of the sw40 9080 compared to the sw45 9080, relatively speaking
I guess I’ve fixed all those error entries in the sheet. Do you think it’s OK to end the GB by 180530? Or should we extend it by one more week?
600-700pcs of those 219Bs should be enough.
Oh, goodness, obsoleted:( I’ll definitely place an order, once I figure it out.
Could I order a 4XP board and have it populated with two each of the SW40 and SW45?
These 219B (and 219C it seems) all tend to have Vf very close to 2.75 @ 350mA. (not that I’ll be using them at that current, I just still test there ever since the Luxeon 1 days!)
That would totally solve any worries about the SW45 being too lavender and the SW40 slightly too yellowish. I’ve noticed both these tints myself. They don’t really bother me but a mixed board would be another very nice option!
