Edit: TLF is UP!! Is taschenlampen-forum.de down?

+1 :+1:

That was also my thoughts
I‘m quite sure a number of members of the TLF are Reading here
And a Few words of one of the Moderators here would be nice

As far as I can See this is the only Place to get some Information

Was there any information to the users before the TLF was shut down?

If so, what was in it?

Yes, there was a note at the top of the page:

Attention, shortly there will be maintanance of the forum

Shortly we will be doing extensive adjustments and maintenance of the forum. If necessary you will need to do without the forum for some time. I promise to hurry, but you got to do what you got to do.

Please don’t panic, even when only an empty page appears. No data will be lost. Thank you for your understanding.

I didn’t expect such a long down time, now we know how addicted feels like. I hope they will restart soon. It‘s good to have no „must have“ feeling for some days, if no one show new flashlights.

Regards Ulrich

Well, it might be a good thing for BLF, more visitors and new members :)

New members most likely. Like me… Same nickname here, btw.

Fenix UC01, TK35UE (2015), HL60R, Sofirn SF36W and a 3D Mag from the 1980ies. Oh, and a Consol Solar Jar (aka Sonnenglas) from South Africa. I also legally own a WEMAS Future (my avatar; bought new from a local construction equipment dealer).

I think I can see the German authorities act a bit OCD on the new rules. From a Dutch point of view, anyway. But better OCD than not at all. In the Netherlands the failed major of the city of Utrecht was appointed to head the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. His resume could be read like “the wrong man in the wrong place”. His board of directors is almost completely vacant. Because being a professionel politician, he knows little to nothing about pricavy, but everthing about how to prevent people from sawing the legs from under his chair.
The new rules were already known for months, but only on THE day itself it was made public that the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens did not have the means, the people, or the knowledge to execute the new privacy rules. :person_facepalming:
I hope TLF will be on line again very soon.

OCD = Obsessive–compulsive disorder? Don’t worry Henk4U2…verschillende landen, dezelfde stront :stuck_out_tongue:  Your story could have also happened over here…where mismanagement and corrupt politicians are part on the daily agenda. Just have a look at this huge POS called “BER” a.k.a. Berlin-Brandenburg Int’l Airport. Ever since they started this project in 2006 there were more mistakes than anyone could count up to. Until today this airport is more likely an unfinished ruin with billions of Euros dumped in some big shot’s pockets without any charges or consequences and there’s no end to be seen. So, it’s no surprise that the DSGVO is just another new law they invented to sue ordinary people while those big shots and lawyers rub their hands and couldn’t care less about data privacy. :person_facepalming:

What good is the DSGVO if our chancellor literally says “Data are raw materials of the 21st century” and “Here we must now be careful that data protection does not gain the upper hand over economic processing.”?

Well I hope the TLF is going back online soon. I have some PA lights here. I can’t return them to the owner or the next member without the TLF because I don’t have the address outside the forum. :open_mouth:

Maybe „amaretto“ knows the right addresses? He‘s the one who usually organises the passarounds.

The work on the DSGVO is more extensive than intended. Frank is working on solutions but unfortunately it will still take some time.
Sorry, we can’t give you an exact date.

Thanks to the BLF admin for the opportunity to post here. :+1:

Many greetings from your TLF team.
Bluzie

Thank you very much for this interim status, Bluzie! I guess we all understand the constraints of DSGVO that website admins now have to deal with. IMHO most important to know is that these changes are still work in progress and that we don’t have to have serious concerns about the future of our forum. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that viable solutions will soon be found and TLF can come back to life.

What I don’t really understand is, that german privacy law was already very tight before DSGVO.

What I do understand is, that existing users must be made to positively acknowledge the new privacy terms (“Datenschutzerklärung”).

In the past, many websites just declared “We have changed our privacy policy. By continuing to use our website, you agree with the new terms.” My personal opinion is, that this is not possible for the transition to the DSGVO.

So now it must be something like “We have changed our privacy policy. To continue using our website, you have to read, understand and agree to the new terms. After logging in, you must read the the new privacy policy. After reading, you can choose to either agree and continue using our website or to cancel your account/registration/membership/whatever.”

This is my personal opinion. I am not a lawyer. (Dies ist meine persönliche Meinung. Ich bin kein Anwalt.)

Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe Frank could set up a simple static interim start page with a a few words on it? So people visiting TLF wouldn’t see just a password request and nothing else.

Many thanks for this information.

Regards

Ulrich

Hi Bluzie

Good to hear in this place a ´official´ statement :+1:

Good luck, I hope TLF is back soon

The proposal from light-wolff is a good idea, I would say

Grüße Jürgen

BLF has a blog for when it is down (www.budgetlightforum.blogspot.com), sb (mr.admin) usually writes a message there when the site is down expectedly or unexpectedly, and it has a simple chatbox. I actually think that not many BLF-members know about it.

Well, I guess the TLF is now down for more than a week

Now, I feel a little bit melancholic :frowning:

Maybe on Monday

A short information from the TLF Team.

The update for the software is running very well. :+1:

This weekend the Add-on from XenForo for the DSGVO will be ready.

We hope that the time without TLF will not be long.
Unfortunately, we cannot give you an exact date yet.

Many greetings from your TLF Team.
Bluzie

The withdrawal symptoms of TLF worsen. And replacements do not help. :frowning:
