Group Buy: Wuben TO10R and TO46R (real 90+CRI triple XP-G3) - CLOSED!!

awesome news maukka, thank you

Thank you the and maukka. Good news all around.

They are even better than first samples.

TO10R on high (old-new)

TO46R on turbo/high (old (turbo)-new (high))

Thanks for testing maukka! I'll give Wuben a green light.

Tint graph in different modes. My sample of the TO10R is pretty good in the hotspot, but needs d-c-fix to even out the beam. I also added a tint measurement with d-c-fix and a Lee Zircon minus green filter on high for the TO46R. That’s an easy solution for the XP-G3 and makes the beam look quite pleasing.

Did you happen to measure the lumen output? I’m wondering the output of TO46R in Turbo.

Approximate numbers, not exactly at 30 sec nor did the usual sphere calibration routine, but should be within 5%.
1100 lumens for the TO46R
630 lumens for the TO10R

That’s great output. I’m really excited to get my hands on this light!

I swapped original Cree XP-G3 (low CRI and acid-rainbow, but buyed as hi-cri) to HI-CRI Samsung LED LH351D 4000K 90 CRI. Now light very smooth and more wide.

Original:

Now:

Can any one take a beamshot from new XP-G3 with real hi-cri?

The high CRI XP-G3 beam looks identical to the low CRI one on a white wall.

And I agree, the LH351D makes the light much better.

Samples have been approved by maukka and all GB lights are ready to ship! Have you paid yours already? If not, please do so at latest on this week’s Saturday (2018-06-02)!

Ps. We have some 10r’s and emitter boards still left. PM me if interested. (all 46r’s are reserved, but I can get you on the waiting list if someone would be crazy enough to bail out… :stuck_out_tongue: )

Literally failed to read, sending pm as requested.

Better if you are ok with a considerably warmer tint?
Besides the Cree’s fried egg beam (that you only see on a white walls) there really that much of a difference?

Will swapping to LH351D give higher lumen output?

I bought this light because it’s 5000K and HI CRI, I do like 4000K but mostly for indoors, for outdoors I prefer 5000K because 4000K Cree (XPL 5A) is slightly too warm/yellow for me. But in MaksVasilev’s photos the 4000K Samsung appears even more white than the 5000K Cree, however I’m not sure the photos show a accurate representation of the color (and he has the WB set different between the 2 photos).

In real life how does the LH351D 4000K compare to a Cree 4000K or this XP-G3 5000K as far as color is concerned? (overall color disregarding the tint shift)

Doing a bit of research here on my questions in my last post (above) I found maukka’s post in the LH351D group buy thread.

Compared to the (Actually low CRI) Cree the Samsung appears to have a bit of a pink-ish hue and does seem considerably warmer. But again I’m not sure the photos show a accurate representation of the color. In comparison to MaksVasilev’s photos here you see a very noticeable difference in tint color. Also the lumen outputs were equal.

White Balans are different and marked on photo.

This photo on same WB = 5000K (left: XP-G3 6000+K, right: With 4000K Samsung LED):

Since this can be easily modded (not glued), can these be sold without the emitter boards? I’m thinking of buying some presoldered noctigon emitter boards with the 219B 9080 from Clemence and put it in there. The 0.0049 DUV Maukka measured is on the TO46R is too high/green for my liking. But I like the two button UI and usb recharge on this nice looking host.

Not possible. Wuben simply won’t agree on selling hosts or parts. Sorry!

Oh. Besides the 90CRI emitters, is anything else different/improved on this version?

90+CRI instead of 70CRI
and
5000K instead of 6500K

Other specs are the same than original.

Okay thanks. Such a beautiful well designed light. I just wish they used LH351D or nichias.
