Massive fraud on 18650s in the Littokala Aliexpress stores!

I bough from that store 4 Liitokala 3000mAh that were supposed to be LG HG2.
My lii500 shows that all the cells are around 3300mAh so they can’t be HG2.

Ok, here’s another one:

A GA with different wrapper. Anybody has this ?

Edit: Same wrapper as Liion wholesale: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR18650GA Flat Top 10A 3500mAh 18650 Battery - Genuin – Liion Wholesale Batteries

I’ve made 2 orders from different stores. Both say on the listing that they are Sanyo GAs, but ones from one order looks like samsung 35E (recessed top, 3 prongs) and from other order looks like LG MJ1 (4 prongs). Both measured the correct capacity and seem to sustain the correct max current, but they for sure are NOT sanyos

Im thinking about trying some out HG2’s or the 25r’s but using them for vaping. Now if these prove to be fake would I have issues with vaping if the max discharge is not sufficient?

If you’re using a mod that isn’t current-regulated, then certainly. And even with a safer current-regulated mod, if the discharge is high, it could get you into trouble. I don’t mind pushing a battery near its limits in a flashlight, but I wouldn’t want to do it next to my face.

If you absolutely need a high-discharge cell where safety is a concern, buy it from a reputable dealer that you know isn’t going to give you fakes. If all you need is 5 amps or less, then even a fake is probably good enough.

I’ve had good luck with cells from China, but you never know. Sometimes it can be hard to spot fakes.

I have ordered six 30Q batteries from the Liitokala Factory Store at the 29th of May

Hope they are real. Has anybody received his ones?

I ordered 6 30Qs from the Liitokala factory store on 17 May. Just got a message today that I think means the package was returned to the shipper as undeliverable, so they just shipped it again.

Meanwhile, the 30Qs I ordered from LiionWholesale at a much later date arrived yesterday. There might be a lesson there. Or not.

I got the same message:

lin zhang: Hello, because your package was returned as undeliverable, give you change the other logistics today sent to you, in the 17th website can query. This is the new tracking number:

Is this going to happen?

I got the same message from “Liitokala factory store”

I've had a couple AliExpress orders whose shipments were cancelled; this usually gets noticed in the order details page or the tracking information page a few days after the initial waiting for pickup notice.

Paying a minimum of attention to shipments' tracking information is a nice idea because, in my experience, sellers do not seem to report their cancelled shipments to users.

Cheers ^:)

Sounds like the shipper they used will no longer accept lithium-ion cells. Does your new tracking number indicate a different shipper this time?

What’s the max possible capacity for an 18650, 21700 and 26650.

The 9900 mAh 18650’s at $1/piece, are obviously a hoax.
But what about 4000 mAh 18650? Is that possible?
I’m looking for a few extra 18650’s, I currently use the black 3500 mAh Liikota cells, which were tested as very good by HJK on this forum. And yes I like them, but I’m always on the look for something better.

Approximately:

3500 mAh for 18650

5500 mAh for 26650

21700... (?) mAh somewhere in between above capacities.

As of June 2018, the highest capacity 18650 is 3600mAh.

LG 18650 M36 3600mAh (Cyan) @ lygte-info.dk Not even 3200mAh minimum down to 2.8V between 0.5A and 1A.

By carefully following the discharge graph lines down to 2.5V, this cell meets 3200mAh minimum down to 2.5V.

No.

Best high capacity cell (I believe and not by a lot) is Samsung INR18650-35E:

Quite well matched cells delivering above 3350mAh minimum down to 2.8V at 0.5A - 1A, and surely 3400mAh minimum if down to 2.5V.

Still no 3500.

Cheers ^:)

There is the Panasonic NCR18650G though:
https://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Keeppower%2018650%203600mAh%20(Black)%202014%20UK.html

Down to 2.5V, it could do 3500-3600mAh without a protection circuit.

If I had one, I could test it myself, but it does cost a LOT of money for a single 18650 cell.

The problem with the NCR18650G and all others 3600mAh legit cells is that they tend to have more internal resistance than their 3500mAh counterparts.

Looks like I’m not the only one.

“Hello, because your package was returned as undeliverable, give you change the other logistics today sent to you, in the 17th website can query. This is the new tracking number:”

So I guess another 3 weeks minimum. :frowning:

Damn it. They changed lithium ion shippers.

This cell would hit 3.4+Ah minimum down to 2.5V at 0.5A - 1A, even without the protection circuit burden (≈40mV at 1A), maybe 3.5Ah at 0.5A, but 0.5A is below the 0.2C official discharge current rating. Totally l00ks like a rewrapped Sanyo NCR18650GA (go check it out with the battery comparator).

Cheers ^:)

Got the same returned and new tracking number message. The new one seems usps traceable
