List of 18350 flashlights (currently available)

Is the Ultrafire S5 still currently available? I couldn’t find it.

I see this UltraFire S5 but I think you’re referring to the older S5 “tube light” circa 2012-2013? (But maybe it’s still available somewhere?)

XANES WT518 is also sold under many different brand names, but I’ll add it to the Lego List. Thanks for reminding me about it.

In case anyone’s interested here’s a few links for the Xanes WT518:

It appears that Neal’s SS35-1 is available on BG as Dito XG1.
There’s aluminum Dito XL1 but the BG site utterly fails to style own shop on that site, putting all the actual content off-screen. So I don’t even know the dimensions.

I highly recommend the Eagtac DX3B mini.

It’s an excellent light.

  • lightweight. Just 64g with Aspire 18350 installed
  • excellent neutral tint that’s not greenish
  • Great UI
  • Great feel in hand
  • Antiroll
  • Quite slim for an 18350 light (22.5mm wide at head. 82mm long)
  • Excellent output: 1770 out-the-front (note the manufacturer claims around 2400 lumens, but it’s explained somewhere in the instructions that those are emitter lumens not OTF).
  • Switch is small and stiff enough that lockout is not needed for regular pocket EDC. Chance of accidental activation is very low.

Biggest downsides of the DX3B:

  • USB cover can pop out in the pocket. It’s easy to put back into place though.
  • Not sure about the battery voltage indicator. It still gives 4 flashes even with the cell down to about 3.5 v
  • Doesn’t have a real moonlight mode.
  • Not cheap

The specs say 86mm. Which one is correct?

Yeah, to say the least.

Looks like a nice little light though.

I wish someone would sell a shorty tube for DQG Tiny 4th - this would make for a really small 18350 light since the 18650 version is only 87mm long. The 18350 version would be 57mm long.

I share your sentiment…

Pro variant (which supports 18650 extension) is 86, regular is 82.

The pro variant also has a magnetic tailcap, which is why it needs the extra 4mm. the regular DX3B mini has no magnet.

(I wonder if it’s the 18350 tube for the Convoy S2, since I’ve tried to “lego” the S2 18350 tube on an EE X2R and it fits)

Convoy S2 seems to lego with the Convoy S2+ 18350 tube too

The tube is different from the S2, at least in anodizing. The top threads of the S2 shorty tube are not anodized (the edge is). On this tube the threads are all anodized! But, it if fits, maybe it works

Can you or anyone confirm the compatibility of the S2 with the S2+ 18350 tube? I don’t own any S2 but would like to try it on a short version

but the S2+ gray 18350 short tube won’t fit (won’t screw in — see the very large gap)

I’m just curious to know. Have you tried both S2+ short tubes (silver and grey) with your Astrolux S41/S42, A6 maybe? I’m very familiar with the Convoy shorties, but I don’t have prebuilt Astrolux lights. I just want to know if I can try and use the Astrolux short tubes with some hosts that I have.

The threading of the Astrolux S1 short tube doesn’t fit the Convoy S2+ short tube and vice versa — I think their threading are different, which causes both to not completely screw inside each others tubes…

Okay, but have you tried both silver and grey? As you can probably tell, the silver and grey Convoys do not have the same fit. For some reason, they are built differently. The silver short tube (and the desert tan color as well) are for later generations of S2+, but they seem to go well with the older S2 tube.

Here is an image: Astrolux tube on the left, Convoy on the right!
The threads don’t match and don’t fit. Well, at least not in my Convoy S2+ flashlights!

EDIT: thanks d_t_a for confirming those matches on the tubes  :+1:

Would you care to compare the silver or desert tan (sand) with the Astrolux? I’m more interested in the front thread or the front end for the head. The whole tailcap assembly can be bought anyway, at least for the S41/S42.

I don’t have any Astrolux flashlight, only the tube (I bought it ’cause I thought it would fit an headlamp I have, to make it shorty…It didn’t fit :person_facepalming: )!
Can’t help with that mate :zipper_mouth_face:

I have Astro S1 on the way. I can compare to my S2+ DT, when I get it, if you let me know what exactly you want me to compare.

Thanks, Pete. I’d appreciate it if you could try the desert tan with the Astro S1. I’m looking for a short tube that I can use with an old host that I like. See the black one in the picture below.

I know for a fact that the S2+ silver and desert tan shorties can be used, especially the silver which seems like a perfect fit, but I am looking for a black one. I’m sure the black and the titanium grey for the S2+ are totally different and will not fit. The same goes with the blue, the green and the red for the S2+. Based on what I know so far, only the silver and desert tan will fit, so I’m looking for something that comes in black and is thread compatible with the silver and dt shorties.
