I seem to recall he upped the amperage to around 8A (12v). He was getting over 7000 lumens and I think 1600 meters.

I am not familiar with the black flat. Too small and weak for my needs.

If using normal CRI70 70.2 I estimate 650kcd with 12V 6A Buck driver possible to go to 7A, over 7A the sustained lumens do not increase much

at those currents it is critical to bridge the carrier springs

And the carrier contact springs too :wink:

The battery springs are from Copper alloy
but idnk why the carrier button spring is not, definately likes a magnet and has pretty high voltage drop

lexel, I finally got around to installing your GT driver in the XHP35 MT09R and WOW! It was only “decent” before but now serious. Stock led, smooth ramp 80% NarsilM v1.2. Got a little chirp on contact charge but good now. I took your suggestion and did not bypass the springs. Great driver! Keep up the super work!!

Not sure where the best place to ask this is, so I’ll give it a try here. I had some boards made using: your ‘new’ 17mm TA layout. I built one in a 1s configuration with an ATTiny25v with no LDO, Zener or bleed resistor using recommended components and resistor values.

I flashed it with the bistro-TAv1-OTSM-HD-attiny25.hex file provided in the Bistro-HD v1.7.1 distribution.

It works great, except for one thing. The voltage readout is wrong. It usually reads out 4.2. I may have seen it go as low as 4.1.

My understanding is that the firmware I am using reads the voltage from Vcc. So I am really at a loss as to what could be wrong. My understanding is that 1.7.1 is pretty well tested for OSTM configs, but should I be using v1.4.1instead?

It depends on the voltage drop on the diode, there is also some variation from MCU to another
voltage readout can be off 0.1V this is normal

I am interested in 17 and 20mm boost drivers. Is it works with low current buttons?

The problem is that it doesn’t just reads out 4.2v with a charged cell. It reads out 4.2v even when the cell’s resting voltage is closer to 3.7v.

I also realize I have no idea what value caps to use for C4 & C5 on the larger boards.

I got no idea what could cause this, I had never voltage readout making problems, sometimes the diode bridge was closed by solder paste and I got 4.4V readout

I wonder if I bypassed the diode by mistake somehow. I cant remember how low I took the actual cell voltage. I know I haven’t tested it with low SoC cell, but I thought I’d check with a cell @ ~3.7.

Got my 30mm 2S driver today, I can’t wait to try it in my 2D Maglite !

Any chance you might come out with a driver for the HaikeLite SC26?
