If the refund was $40.50 then that is most likely a refund for the cells, some places can not have the cells shipped so they were forced to send refunds.

You can contact “Neal” on here for more details, he is the one that sent the refund and will know why it was sent.

Yep, for 1 set of 8. I ordered them on the last day of the gb. Neal said the batteries could no longer be mailed alone and it would have to be refunded. He said he would refund it a couple days ago when he went to LT. May be sent the refund to you by mistake.

My first thought was batteries too, but I’ve never heard of shipping restrictions from Lumintop to the USA. This seems quite odd.

Yes, that’s what he said. The order was for an extra set that I placed on the 20th. I didn’t see anything that said an extra set couldn’t be ordered. When I asked him about the order, that’s when he said I would have to be refunded because they couldn’t be sent alone.

I see that Alamo was #1079 and #1080. The cutoff for paying was May 3rd, so he should have received his lights a long time ago.

If he had ordered batteries at that time they should have been shipped in the lights.

My guess is he ordered the batteries (as well as bags and straps) at a later point in time (unknown date). The bag and straps are probably still traveling to him, but the batteries had to be refunded.

Hopefully Neal will give him an answer soon and explain things. Lumintop and Neal don’t work weekends, but their Monday starts sooner than ours in the USA.

That guess makes the most sense so far. If Alamo had just given all the facts of what was ordered, when it was ordered, & exact amount refunded, when he first asked this question; instead of calling you “snarky cool guy” …… he could have received a much better answer to begin with.

Jason was simply trying to help you figure out the problem you posted about. To figure it out, the details were needed……. not generalities.

Yes, Things have gotten even more strict for shipping cells and Neal can only ship them inside lights now. I wanted to order some cells from him myself but he told me the same thing.

So any extra cells that would not fit inside the GT’s will need to be refunded.

Got my refund last night and today ordered some 30Q’s from Liion Wholesale. They put the button on them like our 35E’s.

I received 1 bag & cap set today via regular standard mail but the problem is I ordered 2 bag & cap sets. I’d assume both sets would have come together for shipping cost reasons…How long should I wait to see if the 2nd bag & cap set shows up before I report it to Neal? Thx

If the order for two was placed at the same time…. go ahead and send Neal a PM aboit the missing items.

Yeah, I don’t think it would hurt anything to ask now if he sent two separate packages or one. It’s quite likely that if there is a second package, it will show up later this week.

Looking at your previous posts, it seems like your original order never arrived? If so, then you should be one of the group who had a replacement light sent to you.

I think the last report I heard from Texas_Ace was that the replacement lights did ship out.

From May 19th.

The very first replacement light arrived to a customer a few days ago. So it is highly likely your replacement light is still on its way to you. Try PM Neal and ask if he has a tracking number for you.

The bag and cap are a seperate shipment and go through regular post which can be pretty slow. I know China to USA might take 2 to 4 weeks, but I have no idea how long it might take to reach you. Southeast Asia is quite close to Shenzhen, but that doesn’t mean shipping is faster. I have no idea.

Texas_Ace checks in with Neal every now and then. Maybe Neal can give him a list of replacement lights and replacement parts that have been shipped.

I know a few people needs parts. 5pitz needs a light engine, others include: one reflector, one tail cap, at least 2 battery carriers. I have heard nothing about these yet.

I have contacted Neal about each of the items that need replacements and he said they would get them taken care of. He was supposed to get in contact with those members to sort out the details.

As Jason said, try Contacting Neal on here about a tracking number for your order, he should have them now.

UPDATE: Neal responded to me within 24 hours of my e-mail to him. He stated he was sorry for missing my 2nd bag & cap order and would get it sent out asap. Easy enough :slight_smile:

After a long wait I finally received my 2 GT’s. Almost 180 days after I paid the whole amount, almost 120 days after shipment.
I was 269 on the interest list, 185 on the payment list, I am one of the last people who receive the lights. I know that LT was not looking at the list order when doing shipments but I received my 2 lights almost 4 months after shipment. This would surely take even longer if it wasn’t for my interventions which were a humiliating task for me especially that a part of the GT Team was on the LT side instead of keeping the side of the people who ordered. Some were trying to imply to me (and not only to me) that the lost/damaged packages are my fault or the local post office fault, some of the packages arrived in their destination in a horrible state. Others asserted that the lost and damaged packages are less than 1% of all the purchases so everything is in order according to them. From the GT Team only Texas Ace has expressed understanding and was helpful for which I am very grateful. The way LT has dealt with people who got their packages lost or damaged was condescending to say the least. Problems which should have had priority in resolving were put off and taken care of as last.

Now a few words about what has been delivered vs. what has been agreed on with the GT Team. Maybe some people from the 4th round do not remember or are not aware what has been initially agreed on but I’ve been following the GT from the very beginning so let me refresh everyone’s memory:

- Packaging is different and a lot worse than what was shown in Neal’s video where the packages were drop tested for damage.

- Instead of 2 boxes, first for protection and the second with the GT light, I received just the main box taped with packing tape and an address sticker.

- The reflector is inferior quality than in the V1 prototype, you can clearly see the OP layer.

  • Both of the GT’s I received have badly centered emitters.

To wrap up, this was my first and last purchase from Lumintop.
Not only do they make problems with damaged/lost goods but also deliver inferior quality goods from what has been agreed on.

Packaging & 1 box instead of 2 is no big deal as long as the GT got to you undamaged.
My last one had only one box also. No big deal, a non-issue.
