Thorfire tk01 review

Thorfire sent me a tk01 AAA keychain size flashlight to review.

My initial thought of this light was it is quite tiny as I am used to using 18650 powered flashlights. I charged up a NIMH AAA battery and put it in. It has a very simple single mode twist head for on / off

The LED is a nichia 219c, that gives very good color rendition. The light is rated for 85 lumens, although I do not have any scientific equipment to measure this I would imagine they are correct it does seem close to 100 lumens in brightness.

The reflector is an orange peel, and it seems pretty deep for the size of the light. It gives a good hotspot that fades into a fairly good sized spill area. ( Remember the size of this light)

I ended up really liking the simple design for Twist on and off for this type of light. If you unscrew the head all the way, it comes to a stop that acts as a lockout mode. I don’t believe that it will turn on by accident if you have the head all the way un-screwed till it stops. When the head is tightened all the way the light turns on to the single mode and if you twist it a little harder it will definitely stay on it will not turn off unless you purposely Twist It Off.

I have never been too big into keychain flashlights but I am going to continue to carry this for at least the next few weeks and see how much use I get out of it and how the body holds up.

I have mine attached to my car key. I can find it easily enough.
The other day I was in a movie theatre and wanted to check the seat for chewing gum before I sat down. This is just one example of when a tiny light is better than a 6D-cell maglight.

They certainly do have use. Finding the key for the house or car when it’s dark. Looking under a couch or car seat for change to buy more flashlights…

It’s meant to be attached to your key chain.

very nice light, I bought two.

I think my favorite part is how the head won’t trwiat off, it locks so I don’t worry about turning it on, or losing the head.
It really is a nice keychain light
