Wavien collars are SOLD OUT [limited production]

I applied discount before paypal and it worked

I can get the discount but as soon as I press continue to go from billing address to billing info it goes away and the price goes back up. I give up.

Maybe something is wrong with your browser? Are you using chrome?

I’m using Chrome. Maybe that’s the problem. I contacted them to see if they can give me back the discount but no response yet.

I tried with Chrome, Firefox and IE. Every single time I go to the next screen after my address it clears the coupon.

Nice work putting this together. If I were into throwers I’d probably get one, but I don’t even use the full capabilities of my D1S so I think any more throw would be lost on me.

I was kinda sad to see the lack of response over on CPF. I guess a lot of the modders have migrated or left. Doesn’t look like you’ll struggle getting to fifty though.

Do you mean the next box? Because for me everything was on the same screen and I just went from box to box for each step.
I didn’t check to see if the coupon got cleared though, I just put it in and did the rest of the steps and it shows the discount on my receipt.
Could it possibly be a bug where it actually is applied but you just can’t see it until the purchase is done? When you go to the paypal screen where you’re about to confirm payment, does it show the correct price there with the discount or not?

Yeah, or they log on rarely and won’t see the post in time.
Anyway, I have good news from my contact at Marinebeam:

“BTW, we have built several host flashlights at modest drive currents with the XHP35 than easily surpass 1,000,000 Cd. Should the group conceive or want to design a lamp around the RLT, a la the Lumitop BLT GT, etc., there isn’t any need to get some outlaw in China or Russia to build them. We are interested in leveraging existing supplier host designs. Provided the sales go thru a licensee (Marinebeam), no problem. This way folks don’t unnecessarily place themselves in the chain of liability should an infringement issue arise. I am happy to work with whomever.”

That is quite interesting - this might give us to the most compact thrower over 1M cd.

I ordered 3 collars and the code worked normally.

I got it to work on mobile. Maybe it’s a cookie issue i dont recall it prompting me on desktop.

@Enderman

I bet they are willing to collaborate. We probably made them more profit in 1 day than the whole year of their own light.

They really should get a clue before calling the GT some Chinese/Russian “outlaw” light though…

Don’t think that’s what they’re implying. I think it’s in regard to pirating the Wavien collar design itself (an outlaw) foremost to begin with not any particular host they would stick it in - not implying that the GT for instance is an outlaw Chinese/Russian light in of itself.

They have no say on what host you put a Wavien collar into just as long as the collar itself is sold by the licensee, Marinebeam. So far but that now has changed it appears.

At least the way I see it else they wouldn’t be selling these 50 collars individually. On the other hand assuming these 50 stand alone collars were a one time deal only now they appear to be saying that in the future a BLF group type light can be leveraged through them directly and they’ll sell the host unit/design with their collar installed is another thing altogether. It’s implied that that’s what they did with the XHP35.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea IMO if Marinebeam further clarified what they exactly mean here in context to what they just did with this 50 collar sale. I’m assuming there will no longer be any more sales of individual collars so if you want a future BLF GT type light with a Wavien, it’ll apparently have to be sold through them using a supplied host (or just the host design itself perhaps more likely) but they build it and then sell the assembled waviened unit.

I would be extremely interested in a GT w/ XHP35 HI making 3MCD or a GT w/ XHP70.2 making 2MCD

The opening in this collar is small so light from the edges of the large 70.2 die may not fill out the complete lens, a sort of vignetting, effectively reducing the die size and output. Throw may not be affected.

Enderman, did they tell you when they will ship them?

Marinebeam replied and said the reason why the coupon did not work was because I had free shipping because my order exceeded $100. You can either get 10% off or Free Shipping. If that’s the case, there’s really no incentive to purchase more than $100.

Ridiculous. A real outlaw policy if you ask me

Oh that sucks, I had no idea :frowning:

Mine just shipped a few hours ago.

I just got an email SKV89 and contactcr:

“Our customer service got a message today about some problems with the free shipping on orders over $100. This is my fault. When I set up the group discount code, I didn’t realize that it automatically disabled the free shipping. This is because the web platform can’t support two discount coupons or promotions on the same order (makes sense actually). I can’t change it now, or everyone will really be confused when they try to use a discount code that won’t work, but any US customers that got stiffed on the shipping can contact customer service by email at info@marinebeam.com, and we will rebate them the $6.95 for US shipping. Might take a day or two to process.

For anyone who is still considering ordering, just put a note in the comment section to refund the shipping amount. US customers by USPS only.
Sorry for the confusion.”

Im confused with what they are saying. I interpret that email to say they intended to allow both free shipping and 10% 00coupon to be applied on orders over $100.

However the email response I got today said they can only refund me the difference between the 10% coupon and free shipping because only one discount can be applied. They refunded me that difference so I still have to pay shipping.

It sounds like you spoke to someone that did not know what was going on and Enderman spoke to the guy in charge. I would take endermans response over the one you got.
