Not a great light ..62mm.head ,side button ,USB

I ordered the 26650 version. It arrived in the US. Should be in my hands in a week or so.

I bought a couple of the small ones. The threads were very loose on the battery tube. Not a bad looking light with dual switch. I swapped in a blf A6 driver with TK’s Anduril. This is just piggybacked to the stripped down stock driver to keep the electronic switch. The stock switch seems to have a very quick double bounce which plays havok with the new driver. I’ve ordered replacements so will see how they go when they arrive.

I’ve got one here , not good for my taste .

Reflector is made out of plastic , and overall quality isn’t that great .

I will post teardown pics in a few hours …

Let us know your review on it Eas.
I ordered the smaller one.

A company that doesn’t do anything except re-badge and re-sell doesn’t inspire confidence .I didn’t mean for people to go rush out and buy it I just assumed someone here already had .
Also not sure what it means when a company lik Gearbest has the light and it gets discontinued so quickly looks like a ebay kind of light and I’d found it when looking for deals on the 8000 lumen poor mans thrower …. I do like the look but can believe it has Sipik68-like quality

looking forward to some members reaction to this light .

Here is the photo album of the flashlight …

I don’t have much time to do a full review or take better pictures for now , feel free to ask anything you want .

I have two of them and the reflector is made of plastic. I wanted to replace the plastic one, but no other reflector fits in this light. I bought every reflectors in this size, but non of them is in the right size.

Mine arrived today. Now I remember why I wasn’t in a rush to get one earlier — I’d figured out that the thermal path left a lot to be desired since the reflector housing and LED shelf both screw in to the, um, thorax.

The driver looks like it is pretty much identical to the driver in a $12 “CC26” I bought on AliExpress a while back. The CC26 light has a similar thorax, but it is in one piece with its much smaller reflector housing.

Anyway, it is a PWM driver with a couple small FETs in parallel and two parallel R200 in series with them for current limiting. Are pads for a third resistor in parallel. I used them to bypass the R200s with a bit of copper, turning it into direct drive.

While I was at it, I replaced the wires with 20AWG silicone wire, and the emitter with a 2x2 array of XP-G2s on a DTP copper MCPCB I picked up on AliExpress recently to play with. Not surprisingly, The beam had a sizable whole in the center. I pulled out the reflector and let a mist of clear acrylic laquer fall on it. The first pass, I’d guess coverage of reflective surface with was maybe 30-40. It helped but the hole was still quite obvious. Another pass brought coverage closer to 80 or so. Now the dark spot is a dim spot.

With the stock led and reflector, the beam had a fairly tight spot, a small, messy corona, and lots of rings. With the quad emitter in the modded reflector, the beam is quite floody. The spot blends into the large corona which blends into the spill. I think even if the dim spot in the center was fixed, I wouldn’t be very happy with the beam, its just too diffuse.

I’ll probably go back to a single emitter and try to get an OP aluminum reflector that fits. If I remember right, the depth of the reflector is ~35mm. A metallic reflector may have some clearance issues with the housing due to thicker walls. What reflectors have you tried, warzi1975?

I just got one from Aliexpress. There’s nothing in the box but the flashlight. I could care less about the USB cable, but I’m an old hillbilly, and would like to see manual. Maybe someone could post or PM me the instructions?

Thanks

The tail switch turns light on and off. It needs to be on for charging to work. When the tail switch is on, the side switch also turns light on and off, and switches modes.

Modes can be changed by clicking the side switch, but they can only be changed for ~30s after the light is switched on, changing the mode resets this timer. After the timer expires, clicking the side button turns the light off, rather than switching modes.

I haven’t tried charging yet, but I have with a similar light with a similar driver. If I remember right, it works as you’d expect, but it’s possible to turn on the light using the side switch while its charging. Charging will (try to) continue, but the drain from the light will be more than the charging current and the battery will discharge. This doesn’t seem to be an issue, the light switches off when the USB is plugged in and won’t switch on again as long as its charging.

Ordered one, C8+ should have a side switch like this flashlight and 21700 battery.
Is this so difficult?

Thanks, I’ve been playing with it. Must it always be on Hi when I turn it on?

Mine is on the way and after two week tracking still “dispacht from sorting center”
about the driver, how much current it leave?

It always turns on on high. I have no idea what the driver current is. It uses two parallel R200 resistors for current limiting.

I was going to look for a metal reflector for this host, but it looks like they are going to add significantly to the cost, so I’m probably just going to call this one done and not put much/any more time and money into it.

the driver is classic 3 modes (low is not really)
but if you hold press it go in SOS (3 modes blink)
I spend time to clean all threads and pill was not that good (residual machined under led board make bad contact area) pill screw only 2 times around the tube so heat transfer not the best on the head, plastic reflector not alu as declared

i don’t get it, everyone say its a bad light, but why so many of you bought one? am i missing something?

Wishful thinking?

“She started to undress,

What a shock to see:

Padded bra, blonde wig!

Not much left for me!”

Someone had to try it, someone had to post about trying it.

Maybe you’ll “take one for the team” next time?

i came in late to the thread, turns out the original title was edited so the context i got was off. OP updated it again, and clarified with me. So I am not confused anymore.

Sure, there are a load of lights out there, its just an eventuality I may buy something no one had done. But the caliber of reviews posted here is quite high and I am honestly a bit intimated to write anything up and call it a “review”

I am a part of a ton of forums, motorcycle, automotive and guns forums. And hands down! BLF has the nicest, coolest forum member I have ever seen.

If you left a honest and open minded review, I’m almost certain people here would appreciate the effort. And if a member had a different opinion, that would be 100% ok. Have some fun, this is a cool little hobby we going here.
