As edited: the white-balance is quite a bit off. This is not a stock green short tube but a blue short tube.
Baked 30 min. at 300āC. Salt and peppa added. It has a vague green hue over it.
Once again: white-balance. These lights are standing on a very WHITE piece of thick watercolor paper.
No problem, I literally opened it up in Lightroom and clicked Auto White balance on the slightly shadowed bit of white paper between lights (near 18% grey).
White balance is my life. (Readā¦ expensive wedding dresses MUST look right!)
I received my copper S2+ with a NW XPL HI and smooth reflector.
Iām glad for this copper limited editionā¦
However the beam looks like a fried egg with a very yellow center spot.
I have yet to see how it looks outdoor, but iām a bit disappointed.
Thanks for the tip.
Iāve never tried the switch from a reflector to a TIR optic.
Any recommendation for a good source that would fit the S2+ and XPL HI?
Dammit patmurris, before I read your post I didnāt notice the egg
Due to a miscommunication I now have both a smooth and an OP reflector, gotta try the OP one and see if itās better. It is one gorgeous light though.
I got assloads of them from Amazon (goggle ā20mm collimator lensā there) but you can get smaller quantities from Fasttech, LEDsupply, even Simonās Convoy store at AX.
Go to the 6th lens, A) and B) .
My favourite lenses and the pebbled ones as they āeraseā most of the eggs and shifts. They probably work better with domed LEDs, but they perform well on the XPL-HI Leds as well!
I bought mine from AliExpress stores, but as Lightbringer said, there are plenty places to chose them
Glad Simon is making another batch. I forgot about getting back to this one for too long. Is it just me, or does this thing seem to be screaming for a Triple 219B?
