Massive fraud on 18650s in the Littokala Aliexpress stores!

I’ve had many disputes in Ali (none about batteries thou) and they always, ALWAYS have sided with my complaints after a rejection or non-response from the seller, and I never had any negative consequence to my account (once got blocked by sofirn store, but that was a store sucker punch because of a negative review)

I find it unusual that Ali hasn’t sided with the buyer in this case. Maybe you could use pictures from other BLF threads as evidence to counterfeit. I do encourage anyone with these batteries that are different in any way to open a dispute and complain directly via message to the store and give them 1 star reviews (to product and store)

I opened a dispute on Aliexpress with the Liitokala official store because the last round of Samsung INR18650-30Q are clearly counterfeit.:
Below is my complaint and the seller’s response….
I received the items and found them to be counterfeit. In testing, they became hot when run in a device requiring 9 amps continuous proving not 15A cells as advertised. I tested capacity to be 2810 mah, not 3,000. After visual inspection, the cells have four posts on the positive terminal = counterfeit. The printing on the wrap is not the correct slant nor DPI. Genuine INR18650-30Q have a slight slant or camber to SDI and 136. the cells I purchased do not. These are counterfeit and I demand refund.

Buyer rejected proposal

Comments from Liitokala Official Store:
Hello! Our batteries are all 100% genuine and the capacity power is also in accordance with the description. We do not understand that buyers use such pictures to explain that the product power is inconsistent with the description. Is there any persuasive power? If the buyer is not satisfied with our product, please return it to us, thank you!

They are disputing that “capacity power” is in accordance with the description. Typical…
They say please return it to us…typical as well knowing that the shipping costs from the US to China would be cost prohibitive. Good thing I used Paypal and a claim is in the works.

IS there any value in slicing off a wrapper?
I mean I have 18 of these…. They would see use, but I really wanted them for high amp applications….

Based on what information?

VTC6 also have 4-prongs… :stuck_out_tongue:

4-pronged VTC6 have higher resistance…

(got the “non-genuine” VTC6 from a different local vape shop when the other vape shop where I got the “genuine” VTC6 ran out of stock…)

Both VTC6 capacity tests are 3000+ mAh (4.20v drain to 2.50v @ 0.50A discharge current, using SkyRC MC3000) ; so a simple test of capacity may not be able to differentiate them apart. The IR tests will differentiate them though.

I was actually a bit surprised at how quickly and effortlessly my PayPal dispute was resolved.

1 message(no response from seller as far as I could see)…1 auto response saying my “claim” was being investigated…5 or 6 days later…full refund ( including for 4 Sony VTC6, that were part of my order)

Anyone order from the uk if so how long did delivery take? It’s been nearly 5 weeks for me and nothing yet.

My shipment to Spain is just past 7 weeks. Should arrive home pretty soon, or so I hope.

Cheers ^:)

Are they shipped by bicycle?

I think mine took six weeks. All the batteries appear to have the correct capacity (30Q’s and NCR18650B) and the 30Q’s run fine in my Q8 and anything else I have tried them in. The NCR18650B’s are not being used in anything demanding so I’m reasonably happy with them. I want to try the 30Q’s in some high current torches but its too hot at the moment

Even want to know which one is their genuine store ?
Thanks

I got the final judgement from Aliexpress staff.
Full refund.

Did you have to submit a video??

No.
I think careful comparison of what what I received with what I expected might have helped:

For the fake 30Q case, it sounds like it would be pretty difficult to make the 4-prong argument, since that is what the seller was showing. Essentially, the seller was showing the cells were clearly fake, so if you bought them, you must have known?

@WITL, not in my case. The seller was displaying authentic 30Qs and as of a week ago, that was still the case.

It's confusing but some posts in this group provide links to 'reliable' stores with pictures that are of the counterfeits!

Actually when it comes to VTC5A, the seller was showing a mix of real and fake. Even clearly visible uneven wraps.
This was the only image which clearly showed serial numbers….

But yes, I think my case was easier than yours.
Maybe you also received some pictures of the real cells that you can use?

I didn’t actually order any. I have bought VTC6 cells from the Sunway Store, and they seem legit. Lately, I’ve just been ordering from the US, as Ali is getting too risky it seems. I’ve also bought from Banggood, and they seem legit, but shipping here is getting difficult.

The more I read of this thread the better LiIon Wholesale looks.

For everyone’s info, I just looked at the LG HG2’s I purchased from this seller, and they are also fake. The serial numbers are all the same, and the wraps are badly uneven. This was the first, and now last, cell purchase I made from this source. I have bought only from reputable dealers before, and will now only go back to them.
